How To Format/Hard Reset N8 & C7
It’s always a good idea to do a format once every few month or even when you first get your new device.
There’s two ways to do a hard format to the device memory:
1). Once the device is powered on and at the home screen type *#7370# and then enter your security code (default is 12345) and then your device will restart and reset.
2). To hard reset, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Turn off your phone.
Step 2: Hold ‘Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key’ together and press power button until your phone vibrates & keep holding the keys until it got booted.
Step 3: Wait until scree shown properly.
That’s it. You have successfully done hard reset of your Nokia N8/C7
