Nokia N900 Smartphone Performance Optimization Tune-Up Utilities
Introduction
This collection of scripts can greatly enhance your user experience with the Nokia N900 smartphone by optimizing the Linux kernel virtual memory system, network stack and the network card and also this collection of scripts includes a traffic-shapping script to stop potentially dangerous network packets ( "firewall" ) by using the Linux iptables module and shapes the network traffic by using the Linux iproute module and such minimize the network traffic overhead in your intranet. This script may be considered as aggressive optimization of your smartphone. If you want more information about Linux Advanced Routing & Traffic Control ( LARTC) you want to try this homepage: lartc.org.
If you want more information about optimization of the Linux kernel just continue to read or google.

* type: dpkg -i iproute_20091226-1maemo1_armel.deb
2. Installation
* Download n900-tune-up .deb package file
* tap x-terminal in the homescreen menu of the N900 smartphone
* type: sudo gainroot

Although I can't deliver any stats at the moment you can test yourself the script by visiting [Only registered and activated users can see links] and [Only registered and activated users can see links] and [Only registered and activated users can see links] and [Only registered and activated users can see links] For measurement I prefer [Only registered and activated users can see links]
Usually you will notice a better ping and an increase in network throughput especially during filesharing or other stressing activities.
5. Download
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
dpkg -i n900-tune-up-minimal.deb to install.
dpkg -r n900-tune-up to remove.
Thank you for reading!
