Gizmondo Handheld Gaming Console

Built-in GPS technology allows players to discover the true meaning of mobile gaming. Some of the most exciting, innovative and interactive experiences the gaming industry has ever seen are currently in development.

High quality multi-level games can be installed through an SD card or downloaded remotely via the mobile phone network.

Unlike other mobile gaming devices, Gizmondo puts you in total control with an eight-way D-Pad, left and right triggers and four face buttons.

An integrated digital camera allows users to capture and share moments with friends through Gizmondo's MMS capabilities. These can be sent to both Gizmondo devices and other mobile handsets or PDAs.

The built-in Windows® multimedia MP3 facility enables users to download and enjoy their music on the move, in digital quality through the stereo headset socket.

Thanks to its Windows® CE operating system, Gizmondo has the most advanced video playback functionality ever seen on a mobile gaming device.

Messaging is a way of life for Gizmondo users. Through the GPRS network, Gizmondo offers a range of messaging functions that enable convenient communication.

Gizmondo's MMS capabilities lead the field. Users can even send and receive rich-media files, including MP3 and Mpeg clips.

Write basic SMSs quickly and easily with predictive-input texting. Or snap a picture with the built-in camera, add it to a MMS and send it to any mobile phone or Gizmondo device in moments.

Developed by SiRF, the GPS service also allows you to set geofences around a building or city. If Gizmondo leaves this assigned zone it can send an alert via SMS to a mobile phone or PDA. The potential for this technology is enormous and Gizmondo will lead the way in its development for the consumer audience.

GPRS offers high-speed communication that follows your every move. Your challenger can be anywhere in the world. The only thing you have in common is the Gizmondo console.

Gizmondo supports Bluetooth wireless technology. Connect to enabled devices such as PCs and mobile phones and share pictures or music files. For gaming, Bluetooth allows two or more Gizmondo devices to link together for multi-player action. For local connections, Gizmondo also has USB capabilities.

Gizmondo blows other mobile gaming devices out of the water. With 400Mhz of processing power and a 3D co-processor, Gizmondo offers the fastest-loading games and smoothest-scrolling graphics ever seen on a handheld console. Additional memory cards allow users to store images, music and movies.

yea my brother was thinking about gettin 1
but then he saw the price around $500 aud so he will probably get a nintendo ds. but idont think it would really take off. in austraslia the hand held console thing is gba and evry one will either get a ds or a psp as a net gan console. and the gismodo will probably die out, a bit like the dream cast.

any way for five hundred dollars ild rather buy an xbox ($200) and get a mod chip ($200) for it and with the remaining $100 ild go to the video store and get a **** load of games and rip them to the xbox...

There is one most important thing to be considered: Will the games be available for free?? If not, and I'm sure of that, this thing will not sell especially in Asia. Therefore, NGage is still the best!!

BR .

frankly GIZMODO was too hyped a handheld and too overpriced when we compare it to the KINGS OF THEM ALL --- PSP ;)

It flopped a long time before. I'm glad I bought a psp. The bluetooth is only for games and wifi is faster which it does not have. You cannot make calls with it and the CEO of the company got his $100,000 silver mercerdes benz clamped for speeding.
