mcu: usually bigger file size than ppm... and usually has the number 0 at the end of it's filename
ppm: usually has letters at the end of it's flash file
content file: has ucp on it's filename... :D

For the Nokia WD2 series, they only have MCU and PPM files. So MCU files normally contains a letter at the end (e.g. nhl830454.7C1) and for PPM files, they end with numbers and do not have any letters included at the end (e.g.nhl830454.701).
Always make sure when you are flashing the phone that the first number of PPM (e.g. *********.7**) matches with the first number of the MCU (e.g. *********.7**).
For the PPM, each different number at the end (e.g. nhl830454.701 and nhl830454.713) are different language packs.
