Hi friends..

Just bought a new Processor and motherboard of Intel, here are the specs..

Motherboard DH55TC and i3 540 processor.. I have installed evertything and then Intel Desktop Utilities, but as soon as I installed IDU, I am getting this error...

[+12 Volts] out of recommended range. (11.062v) It's somehow related to voltage, I don't know what is this and of about what area. My SMPS is an old one and I am not sure whether I should go for a new one or this is something else ..?

Can someone help me please.. Here is screenshot..

if CPU is newer then motherboard , update BIOS
[ i mean build date , not purchase date ]

otherwise ;
normally these settings are set to AUTO
check it

uninstall the utility . you dont need it
the BIOS is smart enough of its own

edit
could be normal
voltage is regulated by BIOS on demand [ AUTO ]

I updated it today yet getting the same error. Tried google and came to knw dat sm psu are not able to provide fix 12v, whch is required for latest mobos n cpu. My psu is quite old n a generic one too. I am scared as i read that these small voltage dffrnces can damage ur components in long run. Wat wld u recommend, i checkd for few psus whch provide fix n stable 12v.,

Series™ VX550 — corsair
Series™ VX450 — corsair.

What do u thnk, shld i go for an update?

i would buy a new one

edit ;
use an on-line psu power-calculator
it will tell you the minimum
buy one that is slightly stronger [ there is no maximum ]
its handy if it has "cable management" .
