This interesting and very informative topic.To clarify some points... I see splinter cell classed as working with proper colour. On 6600/7610 it works but colour so bad its unplayable... Can you confirm it runs on 6630 with good colour ? Also requiem of hell .does it need symboss fix to run or not ?Tiger woods golf good colour too ? Bad on 66/76 phones. Bomberman . Have you tried with lib fix files ?Original libs not work .(lib fix guide to ngage 7610 first few pages)... lastly ssx not working on 7610 but works on 6600 . This game works on 6630 ? I've only tries Puzzle Bobble VS to see if it works, and it does not.
I have the 6630 phone. after intalling puzzle bobble when i click on the icon, nothing hapens. it doesnt work for me.
Please confirm if the rest of you had any such issues.

I have not tryed every game in list update, but on first list i tryed every game and its 100% working.
Some games need symboss fix to works. Like King of fighters.
And some games need the bluetooth trick.
I dont have 6600/7610 and i cant tell you Dmoe, but splinter cell works just fine on 6630.

What about Ashen? Maybe it works with bluetooth trick too.

Splinter cell working full colour throws the whole colour issue on its head ! Colour terrible on 66/76 so presumed would be on 6630 but its not ! Wild ! Cheers for your reply mate about that its much appreciated :) roll on 6680/6681 with 252,000ish colour screens... The games (if any) that work full colour on those soon to be released nokia phones will be truly awesome :-):-):-):-)

It's difficult to try n-gage games because of small card size :(

Try one at a time mate... 6630 well limited by card size. I think 128mb dual voltage biggest i have seen. New nokia 6680/6681 also use dual voltage rsmmc and mmc respectively so should be large sized and readily available cards real soon...

Xanadu Next and King of Fighters did not work when installed together with Splinter Cell and X-men. I installed X-men last and replaced all the dll's it asked... What could be wrong? Ohhh, and the phone became VERY slow! I had to format my mmc and put back a back up I did yesterday...

maybe it also depends on what version of the game we hav. i dont know wat version of ashen game i got. u knw the beta thing or whatever. by the way i havent finish the game yet. but im very far now. i love this game.

My FIFA 2004 is working smoothly everytime i run it, no reboot, no ram compress via AppMan, nothing.

Guess those having problems need to use the fixed Lib files (maybe "oprbridge.dll" is missing).

Games developers told once, that the new games for N-Gage will work only on N-Gage or N-Gage QD.
I think that everybody understand the reason of this decision.

How come? I heard that Nokia will officially support N-Gage games to be played in other s60 phones.

I didn't see result of this. N-Gage was created for gaming, if you want to play in great games then byu N-Gage, if you need phone for another actions then byu another phone. This kind of politic will stimulate people to byu N-Gage.

Thanks to ing.garo discovered some libs creating problems to video reording, backup and some applications crashes (like some MGS or games that resets your phone on exit)

Libs:

ECom.dll
EComServer.exe

Httptcphnd.dll
INetProtUtil.dll

SSL70.DLL
ssladaptor.dll
Stringpool.dll

Deleating this libs will keep let your N-gage games work (if they doesn't, just copy these libs to the folder on ypur mmc where the game is installed.

OK I couldn't quite understand that so I've rewritten it to make it a bit more clear!

The following N-Gage Libs have been found to be the cause of system instability on Series60 phones:


System/Libs:
* ECom.dll
* EComServer.exe
* Http.dll
* Httptcphnd.dll
* INetProtUtil.dll
* securesocket.dll
* SSL70.DLL
* ssladaptor.dll
* Stringpool.dll


Problems include:
* Problems recording video
* application crashes on exiting some games/apps (including non N-Gage games!)
* Random phone reboots in some games/apps (including non N-Gage games!)


Deleting these files from your System/Libs folder and then performing a reboot of your handset should improve system stability and still allow you to play N-Gage games. If an N-Gage game requires one or more of these files simply copy the required file(s) to the GAMES own folder (not the Libs folder!).

Great Info, just tried it on my 6630 and it works a treat!

I had the full libs pack installed and was having some of the problems described with two non N-Gage games... one would reboot the phone randomly during play, the other "hung" on the menu when quitting the game.

Deleted the offending libs & rebooted the phone. No more random reboots with the first game. The second game still hangs @ exit though so there may still be one or two libs that are causing problems!

Next I tried N-Gage Call of Duty which uses ALL of the offending libs, didn't install those into the Libs folder but into the games folder (6R48). Forgot to turn bluetooth on (D'oh!) so it looked like it wasn't working, tunrned Bluetooth on and it works fine... it doesn't lock up on exit either which it did before!

This works in Nokia 6600?

What do ya know.... I followed Red's advice and moved the Libs for each game to each game's directory. They are working fine. The games that i currently have on my 6630 are COD, KOF and FIFA 2004. Requiem quits after the main game menu as i only have > 8MB of runtime memory after reboot.

- No more hang problem for COD while trying to quit.
- no more lagging.
- no more hang problem for some SIS games.
- my 6630 LIBS folder is empty.

I see, i also facing this problem because after install a few problem, the 6630 video recording malfunction. Will try and post the result. Thanks for the info. BR.

I've only tried moving the libs mentioned above so far and it did solve most of the problems I was having, but I'm wondering if we should move all the N-Gage libs AND install libs from the updated/cracked libs pack as needed to get certain games working.

- For COD, all of its Libs incl the subfolder 'Plugins' to 6R48, same level as the '6R48.app'. The same thing for KOF and FIFA.
- in other words, each game has its own GameUtils, GameComm, etc in its 6Rxx folder.

So far so good but still in testing mode.. will keep you posted if errors occur.

People on that thread report the same problem so it could just be that app that's at fault and not the N-Gage libs... but the people with problems may have the libs installed and that's why it hangs on exit! The only Libs I currently have deleted are the ones listed above.

With some N-Gage games (e.g MotoGP, Red Faction, Super Monkey Ball) when I start the game I can hear the sound but can't see the game! Holding down the "menu" key brings up the task manager from where I can swap to the game screen, but then the sound stops working (and I have to reboot the phone after playing 'cause the sound on the phone is all screwy)... does everyone else get the same problem or is there a work around to fix this?

There are some TSRs (terminate-stay-residents) running in the background. You will find which apps are running by installing AppMan.

One way to have more RAM to play ngage games is to boot your phone while holding the 'pencil' key until you get to the standby screen (safe mode).

You need 7.50 MB of RAM in order to run Xanadu Next without problems.

I installed Sonic N with blz installer. The game starts fine. After all the titles I see the message "press 5 to start" but the second I press 5 (or any other key) the game exits. If I just wait the game even goes into "demo" mode but if I touch a button I'm zapped back to Nokia standby mode. Any help? I'm desperate for some Sonic nostalgia on my 6630. Thanks!

innards you tryed put your phone in Safe mode ? Or put in Offline mode

Innards, I have no problems playing sonic in my 6630. maybe u can upgrade your firmware, and make sure u have enough RAM to run the game by using the offline mode. If not, u can try enabling bluetooth on and see whether it works

if i boot while holding pen key is there a way to tell if the phone actually went into safe mode? i see no difference.

Nice find Vitaly, just tried it on my 6630 and I can confirm it's working! Here's a (hopefully) clearer explanation:

* Install Asphault Urban GT and Catan Beta v0.9.03 to your phone
* If you get a low memory warning after installation reboot the phone!
* Turn Bluetooth ON!
* Run Catan (Beta v0.9.03)
The game will return to the phone's menu after a few seconds but the colours will be all wrong!
* Run Asphault Urban GT... the colours will now be correct!

WARNING: The LEFT Soft key will return you to the Phone's menu and you will not be able to run the game again until you reboot the phone!
TIP: Use the options screen to change the default key layout!

* You will need to reboot the phone after playing!

As Vitaly said copying the 6R46. APP file to your phone and "running" that with a file manager like FEXplorer also does the trick if you want to save some space on your memory card.[/list]

To play sonicN on newer 6630 mobiles turn the phone onto silent and then play the game. This should work although I don't know why.

oi here have tried some games but kof seems not to work m usin the dmoe ngage files for os 7/8 any advices ? whenever i do have to play it kicks me back on 6630 menu... autoclosing the game........ ssx same thing...

Moto GP runs a lot faster and with better colors on 6630 than on N-gage QD.

First of all, i would congragulate you... how the heck did you find tthis out??! This way it did work for me once but now it hasn't worked since 3 days, so i have removed both games now. it didnt work the first time i tried your method 8-9 times. it just worked when i least expected it to. and now it isnt working again... :x

I don't believe that's been posted, there is a 3D java version on the boards but that appears to be for Sony Ericson phones (it doesn't work on my 6630 BTW)

How can I run ngage game on my 6630.Please tell me all the instructions on what i have to do to get it working.And please tell me how to do all that things like changing message from C: to E: or something because I have read that you havce to do something like that to play n-gage games and also for some other apps.

is there any "definitive" list of games fully working, recently updated? it would also be wonderful if there is also a big "pack" of games to be downloaded with all the needed patches, but just an updated and checked list would be cool :)

By the way when i get the "out of memory" message when starting RQH (and some other games) i just change sms memory from MMC to phone, restart the phone and then the game works for me. Maybe it's beacouse i have stored ~1900 SMS in the MMC...

P.S. How about the WORMS? I have played it once, but after that it wont start at all. Some people said WWP works for them, others said don't maybe some kind of a libs combination will make it work?

Has anyone got Spider-Man 2 to run *properly* on their 6630?

When I try it everything's fine until you start a game, then it appears to lock up on the "loading screen" You can see the game running in a bar 1 or 2 pixels wide on the left of the screen (i.e. it is working, but in the background). Pressing the menu button allows you to see the screen (briefly!), and if you then select the game again using the task manager you get a black screen with those coloured pixels down the left of the screen again. Seems the same with the updated libs also.

Once the "system" file inside my memory card.....the original video application display "Feature not supported" and also web "unable to perform operation".

When delete the "system" problem still remain.....

To recover back..... i format my memory card and everything back to normal.

It's nothing to do with your MMC... The N-Gage libs aren't designed for your phone, and in fact make the 6630 (and other s60 phones) unstable (problems using the camera, random application crashes and/or reboots etc.). The solution is to place any libs a game uses in the GAMES OWN FOLDER and NOT in the Libs folder!

I tested this with Isuka Islands yesterday and it works fine, don't forget to turn Blutooth ON though or you'll need to reboot before you can try to play the game again.

well - it's not quite working - I format my mmc, clear phone, install ghost recoon and colorfix, moved colorfx libs files to 6r46 folder.

After install ghost recon i looked to libs folder and it was empty - so i tried to run game with colorfix - failed - game didnt start.

so a install "all in one os7" and tried again - game work perfectly but.. in libs folder are many, many files - so - how should i now know which files after install new game i can transfer to game folder?

well - modification :)

i copy ALL inside libs folder to othername folder - for ex. taa (aprox. 4,5 Mb)
then i also copy all to every game folder

then i erase all in Libs

games work perfectly

Good news: Camera is working :)

Bad news: 4,5 mb less of memory with every game :|

now I have "taa" folder where all files from "Libs" folder are, and if i'll install new game - i will copy it to the game folder and it should work.
At the end, After installation I copy all from libs to game directory(if there is anything new).

register and download all you want - orginal relases in SIS format by djwhite himself :) and also system folders . fast download but in small packages (1,4 mb), 1 download at time

Hagis you don't (or at least shouldn't) need to copy the entire libs pack for each game, just the libs that the game uses. So for Ghost Recon you should only need Gamecomms.dll, Gameutils.dll, Lightdrv.dll, and NGMWext.dll. You may need to reboot your phone after changing the libs, but it should then work and you'll save loads of room.

Granted doing things the way I've said takes more space than the full libs pack if you have a lot of N-Gage games installed, but that's a small price to pay for a phone that doesn't crash evey 5 minutes!

i copy all libs becouse i dont know which game requires witch files. In relases that i have some of them don't include any other directory besides apps. so - How should i know which files are req. and witch aren't in that ones? I copy all :)

Worms World Party works on 6630/6680. Just try to run it many times. I need about 5-40 times tu run it. And when it's starts run catan fix.

@Haggis, when you download a game it should come as System/Apps/6RXX folder (where 6RXX is the games directory) and a system/Libs folder... look in the system libs folder, these are the files you need! If there's only 1 file that's all you need --> simply copy ALL the files from the Libs folder that came with the game into the 6RXX folder.

Can you follow that now?

but - for ex - i have ghost recon without libs folder, and without libs included in os7 pack, game didn't work. But in os 7 pack is precicly 74 files (4,5 mb)

Ok boys and girls I've found a way to get the Asphault Urban GT 2 DEMO to work pretty reliably. It wouldn't start at all before on my handset, it's a bit complex until you get the hang of it so take your time and try this:

1) Turn Bluetooth ON!
2) Reboot the phone
3) Use FEXplorer (or similar utility) to free up RAM using the Tools-->Compress memory option, (over 9000k free seems to work well)
4) Run Catan (bad colours) then run Asphault 2 Demo.
5) The game will nearly always exit back to the phone menu at this point. If this happens repeat the following process until the game starts:

run "The One" (good colours), then Catan (bad colours), then Asphault 2 demo

Notes:
A) Ocassionally the game locks up on the N-Gage screen and you'll need to reboot and start at part 2 again!
B) If it hasn't worked after 4 or 5 runs throughs of part 5 it probably isn't going to (this time)... return to part 2 and start again!

Post your results and let me know if that works for you! And before anyone asks, no this doesn't seem to work with the full version BUT I haven't tried the bugfix 6RBC.app file that was released earlier today yet.

@Hagis: for Ghost Recon you should only need Gamecomms.dll, Gameutils.dll, Lightdrv.dll, and NGMWext.dll

Red, one correction to make, Worms World Party Psygage does work on 6630, if the libs are in the /system/libs folder (which also screws up the phone), and if you try to start it a lot of times with bluetooth turned off. Could someone please give me a link to pathway to glory download on this forum, i can't seem to find it using the search function. thanks.

@theragman: No it doesn't, at least not on all handsets! It seems to be firmware dependant, like the asphault 2 demo above...

** Update ** I stand corrected!!!
Worms World Party - this game WILL work, however you will need to try and load the game multiple times, most people report 5 to 40 tries gets it running!
Once the game starts you need to press the menu button to return to the phones menu and run catan to fix the colours, then return to worms again.

I've got the game to run ONCE (after 29 tries and with Bluetooth ON), and haven't been able to get it to load again despite multiple reboots etc. Quite frankly life's too short!

Yes, Red5 i had the same problem and i've given up trying :-(. I read somwhere in this topic itself about how to run WWP and got it to work on the same day, after a dozen tries or so of the entire procedure. But now it's bin 2 months and it has NEVER worked since, even when i did full format of phone memory twice an between.

I can confirm that High Seize PWNPDA version works perfectly on my 6630 v2.39.152, with bluetooth ON

first of all check version you have - only NOT binpda is working.
Then free as many memory as it's possible -reset phone, hold pencil button when powering ON until Pin code req. use Flexplorer to compress ram

MotoGP and Super Monkey Ball work by my N6630. The key operation is accepted and sound is good. but, the screen is not displayed.
However, It was seen when switching to other screens... :lol:

well - in newest games you need about 8,200 mb free ram. PTG or High Size will not run with less than 8 mb

if you don't have enough ram just restart phone with pencil button pressed until pin request - it disable all autorun files. It shoul help.
then run fxexplorer and use compress ram - it always free about 50 k of ram- when you exit you should have about 9000 kb free ram

it allaws you to run every (specified in this topic) game.

It has been posted many times. There is too much different parameters in our phones, so the compatibility list can't be used like universal. We have to write a big list, where should be something like this:
<Game_Name>-<BT-on>-<v.2.39.15>-<Use_fix>-<and maybe something else> - example.

I dunno about u guys.. but i cant play any ngage games on my 6630.. aside from rayman 3 which works great, other than that, nothing.. Tried king of fighters, v tennis, call of duty, da da da.. I've tried formatting my phone memory to free some ram.. (too much program running eats more ram, rite?) but then again no luck.. I think its the firmware.. I dunno.. maybe.. Mine is v4.03.38

Once i even tried to change the fonts.. but no luck either.. but a friend of mine (6630) do have his luck wit it..

i suggest you to update your phone firmware in any GSM store/service center (i advice you use Nokia certificated service)- many versions was released since 4.03.38. - it costs few euros/dollars (in Poland about 20 zl (5e))

I have fw 4.03.38 on my 6630. High Seize and Pathwway to Glory are working great. But Asphalt 2 and Worms are not working. And i`m not sure, but when i install high seize on mmc, internet connection on phone is not working anymore. Strange!

and i think i know why!

try put the game libs into its (game) folder not in system\libs,
because this could make your phone very unstable, i mean:
your camera will stop working (recording video clips: it says: "feature not suported") and.... looks your internet connection is broken...

so put the libs in other place than into system\libs...

search the forum, you'll find a more detailed..... example..

it is indicated here that call of duty and out of bounds works for nokia 6630 but it does not load on my phone.

Worms seems to be partly firmware dependant... I've only ever got it to work once on my phone, I 've literally sat there for an hour at one stage trying to get it working again! People with more recent firmware versions seem to have a lot more luck getting it to run (but also have problems with other games like SonicN which works perfectly on mine)

You have to free memory with appman and sometimes
you have to restart the phone.
If u have too many icons (apps,games)must delete some.
This way some games work on my 6630
