hello guys...

so i have to install my own drivers... but i can't install it... my BT Dongle is Billionton... i've been using it for ages but when i reformat and reinstall my XP Pro this time with SP2... i can't seem to pass the installation process...

when the actual installation is going it is always interrupted and can't continue... how come...

i downloaded the latest billionton driver... even get the widcomm 1.4.3.2 and the latest widcomm 4.01...

still after asking where to save... upon clicking the next button... it always interrupted... saying it was interrupted...

i attach the screenshot so you could see it... please help me...

That's odd. I never got any problem installing on winxp sp2. I must admit that the built-in bluetooth suuport is not that good.

Here's what i did plain and simple ;)

1st i plugged in my billionton dongle and naturally xp will detect and install the necessary drivers, just let it finish installing it. After that install your own driver (mine is widcomm 4.0.1.700 ) after the installation, windows will still use its own driver for bluetooth, now right click on My Computer and down to Properties then click on Hardware then Device Manager.
Click on Bluetooth Radios then right click on Generic Bluetooth Radio then click on update driver. Now click on No, Not this time then click next, now click on Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click next, now click on Don't search, i will choose a driver to install, click next. Now you will see a list of compatible devices one of which is the Generic Bluetooth Radio, and below it is the driver you want to install. Click on the driver you want to use then click on next. On some setup it might inform you that the driver you're about to use is not certified or is not digitally signed, just click on continue when this happens. It will create a system restore point and install the necessary files for your selected driver. Now click on finish. Now you'll notice on the Bluetooth Devices list is that your bluetooth driver is now in use :)

On some PCs you may need to restart the pc.

Also note that you may need to right click on the bluetooth icon on the system tray and click on Start using the bluetooth device.

This is based on my setup and dongle. It may differ per pc.

Hope this helps

:)

I have problem with my bluetooth and connecting my nokia 7650 to Oxygen software..

I install all drivers, i pair my phone with PC, connection works, but when i try to connect phone with O2, no matter which port i select in options, it always says port busy or phone unknown..

Where do i do wrong?

IVP Bluesoleil works fine but it cannot be compared to Widcomm

Just uninstall SP2,Widcomm then works again. Me see no benefit of it
