Yes, you should be aware of these scams. The scammers usually give you a legit billing address such as countries in the US, UK or Australia, but normally, their shipping addresses are from countries like Columbia, Iraq, Indonesia, the Philipines, Iran, Africa etc etc.

There are many ebay scammers and if you cant see one in front of your face you might aswell stop selling. there are many fraudsters people saying send items here there. cars saying BUY IT NOW 3600 for a car worth 10000 and you contact them they go they working or summat in a different country and they will ship car once got money. Main obvious ones are the nokia phone 20N90, 20 N91, 20 Nokia 800 for £150. Like youre really going to buy them for that price and you still see people bidding and buying just falling into a deep cave. Just be careful always remember CASH BEFORE GOODS

You have to be very careful with online bids and stuff like that! Although I think
that you will get the money back since you used paypal!

i think paypal is the best method of paying at ebay in the moment:
it is fast and secure, in germany you can proof the sending with the proof thing by the german post.
but u still need somebody watchin that you packed the sold thing in the package for proof in court.
there is also the possibility that there is somebody as partner who you send the money and if you got the ordered thing he sends the money to the seller (Treuhändler)!
It is the most secure way of purchasing in the net, but also much more expensive than usual money transaction!

kkep ur eyes open!

Hey,

watch out when using ebay. ALWAYS use palpay if you don't want to be scamed.

My friend, he purchased an IPOD Photo of Ebay and lost his 500 dollars AU.

He went wrong by sending the money to the sellers bank account.

Another one of my friends recieved a phone which had a cracked screen, he tried to send it back but the user didn't respond but later was then removed from ebay.

SO BE CAREFUL!

I have website called Brightmobile.com as we sell mobile phone accessories and every time someone dodgy fires through an order i have found the below facts;

Usually have connections to Nigeria or will be an organised gang.
Uses a GENUINE cardholders credit card then uses their address as the cardholder and requests shipping to different address. If you call card company to confirm details they will show as PERFECT but GENUINE cardholder doesnt know that their card is being used.
If you send tracking details to customers when despatching orders and you decide to send out details by email today. In 1 hours you will have received 50 orders of the same item.
Some fraudsters will call you to check if their order has been despatch. What we do is tell them it has been despatched and they will deliver anytime between 9am till 5.30pm. This shows not to waste our time too

I once paid for a weblink to my site but this was only placed for a few days whereas it was advertised for 6 months. Paypal did NOT give me back anything claiming INTERNET SERVICES were not their liability.

Hi, guys, I thinks this is the best place to ask this question, I sold on ebay a mobile phone quite expensive, the guy paid by paypal with a credit card, I cashed the payment but his delivery address is not Confirmed. How do I know if the guy has used a stolen credit card?
Thanks for any help.

cairnquay
9th March 2006, 04:14
Its should show "Confirmed Address" and that should be ok. If however it states "credit card" payment or "Illegible Protection" then no point in accepting payment. Just refund it and ask for cleared funds or inform them to pay again. Better safe than Sorry.

I can’t confirm my address ‘cause I’m using the internet only at work and apparently you receive an automated call on your home phone number straight away (after you do that verification thing). I’m not gonna be able to answer the phone & my flatmates are at work too...What am I suppose to do?

If you purchase items under £15.00 on *Bay then NO REFUND?!?!?!
