i've created it with screenshots by screenshots steps to make it easy for you..

Im using N6600 FW 5.27 and you can try creating ur icons too and upload them in ur mobile. I know this can be used in Ngage, 3650, 3660, 7610, etc..

Fair point about double post but this guide with pictures is excellent :-) makes the whole process very easy with your step by step instructions attached identifying each button and process . how to find uid using fexplorer
i cannot found any uid no. to copy

using Fexplorer just press # and u'l see the UIDs..

I have one problem - not all icons created this way (with iconwizard) changes the apls name in main menu - for example its OK with MP3Player or PVPlayer, but i can't change the name in Quickword, Quicksheet, Resco Viewer, Papyrus and same more. Only the icons are new but still the same programs names.

If somebody can help, I'll be thankful :)

if ur using seriees60 version 1.. install sysiconz or ngagexpicon first then u can see at E:/System/Apps/freakMenu or xxMenu, u can change that in icon wizard..

in other series60 versions, use ngage_xpicon something like that then u can there xxMenu, edit that again and u'l be able to change ur icon into ur Menu.. :lol:

yeah.. its a problem with some apps. there will b a xxx_caption.rsc (where 'xxx' is mostly the name of the software) file at the target of such apps. For example, in quicksheet, there will be a file called 'quicksheet_caption.rsc' in /system/apps/quicksheet.

wat u can do is transfer this file to ur pc, and use the attached RSC Editor, and edit the file. After editing, save it and transfer it back to ur phone, and replace the existing file. Mostly, after restarting ur fone, the name of the program wud b changed 8)

I have something to ask ... that S60 icon wizard just can type 0-9 and a-z word to display at phone menu.. how about if i want make the aif file in chinese which is diplay the chinese word at the phone menu ??? who got the sofware can make chinese aif??

ALERT:

Changing icons on file handling (i.e. : QuickOffice, PDF +, etc) disables brownsing this files in ur phone.

For instance:

Changing the icon on QuickWord disables brownsing *.doc files received by sms, mms or email and file explorer.


BECAUSE:

This software S60 IconWizard doesn't have the option to insert mimetype application.

This kinda software must mimetype indication on *.aif file for browsing.
When viewed on an Hex Editor this *.aif files must have this line:

Changing 'PdfFileList.aif' will create another icon and resets the default one.

I believe this must occur to other software that requires or uses file browsing.

i have that problem same to you before but i have found out that the image is not exactly 42x29 and 44x44.. use irfanview to resize it and save it as bmp.. regards :D

it promt message is "kenn bmp".
i think may be i forgot to convert the pic to bmp format.

Do u put wrong uid3 or the name of the appz (aif*)....that why the appz will stop running... :wink:

Yes you can. after creating sis icon use unmake sis to break it and transfer icon.aif to your mobile and replace your icon with original with Fexplorer or other file manager.
