Unfortunately no mate. As all files here are zip or rar (compressed) then the phones file manager will not let you download such files when using wap.Reason being that no option to open or save file is available using wap and as file must be opened by installer directly upon end of download with wap the installer will read unsupported file format. As not saved to phone during download the file is then lost... I must move this topic to suggestions from symbian games as not specifically a games question... :wink:

how about the 'communicator'? can i use it for download?

Using pc is best ;-) but phone with opera , netfront etc works very well also . If you got the option to save the download at the beginning of it then your gonna be successful :)

If you have symbian phone you can download apps over gprs but it is too expensive, but if you still want pm me and i will explain it to you how to do it!

Maybe this is abit different. They dun upload in compressed files.

They have this thing called WAP Emulator or something

I know its kinda difficult to start from scratch in this stuff.
But i sincerely think that we need to move 1 step ahead.

Besides Iphone is all about Mobile. So Wap or GPRS download is the second best option of downloading or even uploading files besides the internet. Hey 3G is more expensive for sure.

Suggestion is that we can start a topic getting feedbacks of what member thinks the right stuffs and the more useful/popular application that we use at the present. But maybe allowing only moderators to upload 1st. (to save on bandwidth prevent spamming)
If the results are good we can slowly let senior posters upload and so on.
If newer/junior member wants something uploaded just ask them for suggestions that all.
But upload can only be done in the Web site

Well i guess its an option possibly not as yet pondered... Like you say this is a phone forum so why not access with phones ? I use opera and get free gprs so not an issue for me but your right in saying wap enabled phones should have access too ! Most phones have wap now so the scope for membership is huge. Would be only certain files available though as max download size would depend on a particular phones ram capability as on wap the total available ram governs the total individual file download capacity. I will ask admin about whether the possibility of wap access may ever happen... Br , dmoe

i agree to you Dmoe,coz all of my collections like apps,themes,wallpapers and etc were downloaded directly with my n6630 by using gprs over internet for zero cents.

I still prefer computer > phones :D lolz
