Though, i was hoping you could assist me with something.
I gave an xda2i and put the maps on my SD card - though launching TT5.21 says 'No Maps found".
Do I have to name the directory something different? Or is it something simpler?

no...you need tomtom 6 to use this map.....and tomtom 6 will come somewhere in september.

Can't you read at least last 10 posts?

6.50 maps doest't work on TomTom 5.xx. The latest maps, working on TomTom 5.xx are 6.32 and 6.45 (some eastern european countries)
You have to wait for TomTom 6.xx, wich will be avalable at Q3, 2006.

how do i install these speed cameras

just unzip and copy the files to your map directoru and
run tomtom and change prefferece poi settings enable them

TomTom V5 Speed Camera Install

Download the Speed Camera Database


Extract all the files to a folder (that you create) (you only need the contents of the ov2 bmp folder) You need to then physically drag and drop these files onto the memory card into the GreatBritain map folder.. To do this follow the instructions below:

You need to highlight the files and select copy
Click on My Computer
Mobile Device > My Pocket PC > Storage Card > Great Britain Navigator Map i.e. the folder where your map is...


Configuring the Speed camera database

Tap on the mains screen
Select “change Preferences”
Click on “arrow” to go to more options
Click on “Maintain POI”
Click on ”warn when near POI”
Enter “PO” and select pocketgps Gatso
Enter Distance for warning, normally 100 yards.
Select Warning sounds
Tick box “Warn only if POI is on route”
Click on the “Main menu again, more options, browse maps, options,
Select “POI” and and POI in the bottom left corner and select GPS Gatso select done
You can then browse the maps and see where the cameras are and if you approach a camera that is on the database. you should here a sound warning you of this

I have WM5 which is finally running TomTom using the methods I posted. I do have a PDA running WM2003SE that I can try intstalling v5.21 on. I'll let you know if I can get it to work.

I've been trying the whole day to get this to work on my PPC... I was able to install the TomTom Navigator 5.21 but then no matter what I do I can't get a single map to work. Every time I run the prog it says No maps found and all I can do is click on Cancel. I've tried dozens of different maps to see if it wasn't due to buggy ones and still...

There isn't even a readme to explain so I'm left with divergent and unclear explanations from this post.

Please, can someone explain as CLEARLY as possible how to get the maps to work. Where do I put them ? Is there a special name for the folder ? Is there a special procedure ? What's with the Guam ? etc.

a) Maps are stored in a folder on your Storage Card

b) Folder has the name of the map. My folder is named "Great_Britain_Plus-Map"

c) The TomTom folder with the currentmap.dat file must be put into the
My Documents folder on your PDA (main memory - not memory card)

d) The currentmap.dat file contents must have the same name of the map
folder on your Storage Card. My currentmap.dat contents has the info
"!\SD Card\Great_Britain_Plus-Map\"

e) If your map folder has the name Great_Britain-Map. Then your
currentmap.dat must have "!\SD Card\Great_Britain-Map\" as it's
contents.

If your map folder has the name Guam-Map. Then your
currentmap.dat must have "!\SD Card\Guam-Map\" as it's
contents.

f) If the TomTom folder with the currentmap.dat file is on your
Storage Card, cut and paste it to your My Documents folder on your PDA.

See below for the TomTom folder with a currentmap.dat file.

The currentmap.dat contents has the info
"!\SD Card\Great_Britain_Plus-Map\"

If your map is a different name, change the currentmap.dat
contents to the name of your map.

Try with Maps v5.xx because the v6.xx need activation, but an old map (like guam map v5.xx) help you to don't have request to activation code.

The file current map.dat is memory position of your last navigation. The file is automatically generated when you start TT.

But if you use TTv5.21 all maps v5.66 have problems.
So if you have a TTv5.00 the maps v5.66 go well.

MY Tomtom 5.21 closes after the map selection. I have a qtek 9000 (htc universal), copied the crack file, but (stupid me) previously I started the original exe.....

Now even after copying the crack on the "programs\navigator" folder the program does not start.......or better, start, then I have the map selection screen, and clicking on a map or "cancel" it's the same, it returns at today screen....

It's the same if I put the SD with the maps or if I leave it out.

Maybe the problem is with the maps? I took them from the Symbian UIQ installation.....

Forgot to say....I'm using the Guam and Italia maps togheter which were working on 5.21 Tomtom for Symbian UIQ.

Uninstalled tomtom completely searching tomtom keys in the registry and in the disk.
Reinstalled........and copied the crack BEFORE running tomtom for first time. Now the crack always bring me through the initial setup, after voice selection (whose test works), I have the same map screen selection (Guam and Italy). Whatever I choose, same behaviour as before.......

Now I'm dlding different maps.....but Tomtom doesn't ask for map activation, it simply goes back to WM5 today screen with no error code (is there a log somewhere? :???: )

I started reading the 3D from the start looking at solution (what a pain.....), but my problem seems a bit different from previous....(now I'm at half of the 3d....)

i need the italian 6.50 maps version... anyone have this?

Did you install the TomTom voices ?
I had this once and I found out that it happens when NO VOICE at all is installed...

problem 1. mount the iso with deamon tools or burn it....put it in youre cd-player and install the voices

or go to www.tomtom.com and register to download the voices for free

problem 2. Go to Gps status.....click on config

and chose youre connection (mine is tomtom kabel-gps)

you can try malsingmap. find it used google. it's free (including sabah,sawarak,KL map) and also singapore map.

There's a folder called VOICES in the root of your MMC so put files voices into there.
For configure GPS when you arrive to Show GPS Status you have 2 option "configure or exit", in configure you have TOM TOM GPS or other GPS (may be a list of others GPS). choose that you need.

You should first leave the device number section emty.

1) Generate a product code
2) Enter it on www.ttcode.com
Probably it will say that it is not correct. So you will have to try product codes until a code works. Usually after 30mins of generating one will eventually work. I had to try for 35 minutes
3) Enter your device numer like ANGUY CHFGS
4) Type in the activation code on your device

I used the the keygen to activate Tom Tom Mobile 5.2 on my nokia 9300.
I don't know whether it works for maps as well

This Keygen can be usefull to activate Tom Tom products, when the crack doesn't work. Otherwise applying the crack will be a lot faster/easier!

can someone help please? - I've tried installing lots of different versions of tomtom nav to my o2 xda neo, and everytime when the installation launches (with the logo etc) then it simple vanishes from the screen (crashes) and doesn't run.

Any ideas why? I've tried copying the maps first etc but still no luck.

ps. does the SDcard need to be empty before installing - as I already have some files on it...

Ok, first THANK YOU ALL for all these files that i have no clue what to do with :D. I've been going at this TomTom crap since 11pm and its now 5.30am, so about 6 and a half hours.

I got it installed, what i thought was 5.21, took me a while to get it to find the map and then after reading over maybe 100 posts online and some luck, i got it to open the texas map. Then i went to about and it said 5.00 :(

Also TomTOm wouldn't connect to my Nokia BT GPS unit because it would only allow me to choose port 9 when my Wizard only allows me to choose port 6 or 7. So i now think i'm upgraded to 5.21 but it says no maps found... i edited CurrentMap.dat to look like "& \Storage Card\Texas-Map\ " but still no maps found. So now i'm hoping the map isn't showing up because its 566 and hopefully i have 5.21 installed.

So if anyone could do a simple how-to write up or can help me please pm me.

And all the rapidshare files are gone so i can't get a hold of any 567 maps..

i finally got it to work. I erased everything and started from scratch with the attached torrent. Its only the core (no voices no nothing)

Then i had the "No Maps Found" issue, i edited the CurrentMap.dat, still no luck but i downloaded Major_Roads_Of_America and put that in the root of my SD. Started tomtom, dozed off woke up and its working!!

Had a issue connecting the BT GPS (kept telling me No GPS Device) But all i did is unpair it and pair it again when tomtom told me to... so simple i was making it to hard by following all these other how-tos.

Now one final thing, does it take everyone elses TomTom a while to load up?

This is what i did, and it working very good.. download the cd(dvd) unpack it to a map, download the cracked files (with update 5.21) unpack it to the unpacked cd map... and just start the installation, remember to copy the cracked tomtom.exe to the pda before starting tomtom.

p.s install the map and voice too before starting up tomtom...

When everything was going so well... I was showing it off to my bro (who bought the bt gps device last night for his n80) it froze in the preferences. so i just soft reset the PDA and BOOM "No Maps Found" i messed with the CurrentMap.dat with no luck again. So i thought i'd do what i did last time, just copy Major Roads Of America back onto the sd card.
Right now as i copied them over, they're not there... it didn't ask me to overwrite. I think my miniSD card is corrupted because the memory is still being taken up.. Oh well i've got a recovery program but this sucks if it doesn't work i was planning on using it driving to campus just to give it a road test.

The map folder goes on the root of your memory card & the voices go in a folder named voices on your memory card.

No - you will need a bluetooth gps receiver - try & look for one with a 'sirf III' chipset.

I'm sorry but you DO NEED a GPS device. If not then this program will only work as a map.

I'm using the Nokia GPS Bluetooth reciever (which reminds me i forgot in my friends car) which is on sale at Fry's Electronics for $49.99 (USD)

Awesome program if you have a BT GPS device.. but really dangerous, i've been watching my Wizard more than i have the road...

Does anyone has TomTom Rider Maps ?

For TomTom Rider the map suplier is NAVTEQ (not TELEATLAS) and i want to do a comparison betwen them.

I think that NAVTEQ is much better than TELEATLAS.

I ve installed tt5.21 to a ppc (hp 2190). when running, the display shows "map not found"
I put the Eastern_Europe-Map folder directly to the sd card, and after that, the program hangs up. no message, nothing....:cry:

any idea??

This is a common problem that has the following solution:

1. Make a new TomTom map on your device memory:
2. make with Notepad a new file that you name: CurrentMap.dat
3. in this file address the map wher you're map(s) are installed e.g. :"\StorageCard\Benelux-Map\")
4. Copy/cut or move the CurrentMap.dat to the newly made TomTom map.
Finally it should look like:
My Documents\TomTom\CurrentMap.dat"

5. Be aware that if you're using TT5.21 there should be at least one map V5.71 otherwise TT wil not work!

If You search to TomTom site, Greece not compare between maps.

But you can find Athens Map to Route66 (last version Mobile7 or Navigate7).
nothing else.

Did you copy new map folder v6.32 on main root like the other v5.62??

Try also to add Guam-Map v5.67 (340 Kb) to the root, no activation code will be request for new map version 6.xx

ok someone help me...got a Xda2 the Big one type...i can install tomtom6 programme working but gps not connecting ...called tomtom for help ..didn't tell thwm i was using crack software to tom...
they said in order to work fully gps..xda2 only tomtom 5.2 works..tomtom6 on xda2 will not work although the programme will work but gps will cause problems..
now is there some who can give me instruction to dowlload tomtom5.2 for xda2....and instructions...thank you
