Changing Icons In 6670/7610/6630 etc. [Archive]

Yes you read it correctly, 6670/7610/6630 etc. can change icons just like 6600. Although its abit complicated, its possible.

Heres how:

Step 1:

Go to themes and choose the theme of which the icons you want to use, press options>edited and change one of the setttings, for example, the colour palette. In my case its the sketch theme

Step 2

Using a program like fexplorer, go to c\system\skins\theme_used_in_step1 and take the ini file

Step 3

Put it into c\system\skins\the_theme_which_you_wana_use. In my case the Avril Lavigne Theme

Step 4

If there is any ini file inside, delete it, then, rename the ini file to the name of the folder

Step 5

You are done, exit the fexplorer and apply your theme

Now...Time for some screenshots :P

It would be only simpler, when somebody change a program to the Icons could develop.

Can that of maybe one of you?

i didn´t know this. only the 6600 can change the icons of the themes you use? :shock: i thought all new s60 phones could do that. looks very compicated lets see if this works with 6670,7610 and 6630 users. :)

look at this ive use the wasp(mango) icons to macosx_6630(dakku's) theme.

you don´t need this methode to do on 6600 yudo. 6600 can do this by default just by editing the theme you are using :)

this tip is really cool...but i don't see my some of my icons change..such as the tools,games,extras..the user made icons from the phone..everything changes but not that...But if using theme editor..everything changes fine..but it takes too long..this method is cool though..

Win Vista icons in Darkaos of Mangothemes ( i never liked mango's icons) :P

Much appreciated Tian! It really works 4 my 6630 :-). However, I thought this will also change the Battery/Network bar & Folders too. E.g, I installed de XP Future animated theme. I HATE its Icons & Folders so I edited my Default theme as provided in Steps! When I applied the XP theme I was suprised 2 c dat ONLY the Icons changed to Default! But the Folders, Network & Battery bar remained XP??

its not working on my 6630! i have move the .ini file from "happy easter" theme to "graffity contacts" theme, and i renamed it just like graffity folder, but nothin changed when i apply that theme.. i edited the colour palette to purple.. and started all again but it doesnt worked again..

still did't change.. here:
-i go to themes, choose alienware theme, edit, change the colour palette to green.
-then i go to fileman, E:\system\skins\alienware_theme_folder.
-i take the .ini file
-go to mechanical theme folder
-delete the mechanical .ini file
-paste the alienware theme .ini file
-rename the .ini file
-close fileman
-and then i apply the mechanical theme!!
-and walaa.. nothing change..

is there somthin wrong??

Make sure you find the directory where you installed the skins, i.e phone memory or Memory card.

Don't look in your phone's memory directory if the skins in the Memory card.

I have a nokia 6630 and I made the 5 steps procedures and it works perfectly. But now I want to change another icons in the same theme and the 5 procedures doesn't work anymore.
Is there any way (without uninstalling the theme) to do this?

Same thing happened to me, I followed the procedure but it didnt work!! Of course I looked in the memory card folder while my theme is in the memory card, strange..

Anyway, I used the icons of a modified 6630 theme coupled to Antech's N90 theme - Nice duo :D

i wnat to change the icon of the theme wiht maria theme but when open the skin in symtem folder and open the maria theme i found there only two file one is .skn and other is .mbm so what should i do witj it here is the link to download maria theme
