i believe .sis is not compatible with the sony ericsson K700i, so what else can be uploaded to the fone?

u r right, sis won't work on K700i, that is only compatible with J2ME Files (.jar type) ...... Videos, Sounds etc supports many formats but Games and Apps will only have to be .jar only ......
