I'm just curious as to if people prefer Symbian only titles (SIS), Java (JAR), or don't care (like them both). I personally only collect SIS files...that is files specific to the SymbianOS. I myself think the quality of said game/app is far superior when designed specifically for the OS, so I pretty much overlook anything Java. Maybe I'm missing something with Java apps here and there, but from past experience...not too much. So, what do you think?

On my 6680 jar games work hard (very low fps rate; some times game freezes! i don't know why), so I play only SIS games.

my phone dosent support sis so unless i upgrade to a symbian phone, only jar for me.

I agreed ...not all Symbian games are good ... some of the java are even better in terms of gameplay and graphics ...the only thing that spoilt the java games is the lagging of gameplay ...it annoying ...when too much of java games installed .. your phone may be too much slow .. or even stop ... but i choose java for overall ..save memory ... :lol:

SIS games! That games are quality made - 2D and especially 3D games! By the way, I dont like java games, 3D graphic is poor and games are boring. 3D Symbian games rulez! Let the manufacturers produce Symbian phones as much as possible.

I totally agree with you! I saw a friend playing Motoraver 3D on his SE Z800 and it made my jaw drop!!!

I can se some serious future in java 3D gaming for sure.

But i have to vote for SIS: better quality, longer playtime, better GFX and Sound...

I now have a pretty modest collection of SIS games. I decided to give some Java games a go again the other day, and they still (even the latest ones) run like crud. Perhaps it is just the phone I'm using (N-Gage QD), but I tend to believe that this is just the nature of Java on S60 in general. So, I still stand by my original statement that games specifically designed for the S60 are the best. Now if a topic says "Java", I just move on.

Tough SIS are the standard"s for just about anything but you cant install any large App"s or gamez larger than your phone memory { Like 4 MB in my ngage }... For this you need a BLZ file which can install a large file without relating to C:\ of the phone :smile:

I vote for Java games too . Favourite is SE's 3D games. Favourite is fishlabs. Their games and graphics are an exceptional. Gameloft is great too.

sis file! the games are moslt playable and the graphics are better. and the games wont lag. not sayin that java is not good. juz tat moost of the great games come in sis file.

unpack them on your pc with unmakesis and then copy files to your mmc in /system/apps directory with a card reader, hope it works

simbyan really is much better and faster, but if game is good, it doesn't matter much! my favourite games (ancient empires 1+2) is in java, and they are just great!

yes but some jar games are really nice like racing games or action shooter games.I put 2 amazing games on my 6680 oc the tv show and sims2 and they are awsome.although sims 2 runs a bit slowly on the phone and may be becouse the phone has this new symbian i dont know.Apart from these games i agree sis rocks my mobile.But gameloft as i mentioned before makes some very good java games as well.

java = bad (cannot multi tasking)

it depends on the phone and resources, since i have my n6600, the only way to connect my phone to my pc(to store files) are bluetooth, Ir, and memory card reader(there's no usb port in N6600). But i don't have devices like BT and Ir, so i'll go with the process of pulling out and inserting the memory card again and again. So with this, the java games are affected, how? if installed already on the MMC, and then pulled out of the phone,then insert again, there is a great possibility that the java game currently installed won't run anymore. unlike symbian games... So i prefer symbian games...

But then, there are some java games that are really great(for example : Text twist- VERY VERY VERY addictive)

Java is a bit poor on my Nokia 6680, some games are instable and run extremely slow. I choose sis games, especially Asphalt2 3d... most awesome game ever seen on Symbian phones! ;)
