Seems to be working fine on Nokia N70...the only question I have at the moment - where to get city maps? Do I need a GPS device for this software?

good to hear working on n70 as not on list but yes without relevant maps not too useful... and yes a gps unit is needed to run this application . Without it you have nothing to gauge your position so no known location to head from or to ! Ebay do them cheap though ;-)

In the compability list... the P910 SE is listed and i wonder if I can use this installation file to install tomtom on the specified phone?

I have looked for a cracked version of the tomtom 5.20 and i havent found any one for P910

i finally found a great map of australia for this program, as there are not many fellow aussies here i wont upload it untill one requests it. i just got some voices for it aswell but havnt tested them yet, im gunna do that now. but this is a great application . thaks again

there are no maps that come with it you have to find them yourself. there are alot of maps on torrent sites for europe and america, evrywhere else is a bitch to find maps for

when u install the app on ur phone there will be a tomtom folder in ur mmc just coppy the files inside the voice folder you want and post the 3 files in the tomtom folder on ur mmc, same deal applies for maps

oh forgot to mention 6600 will not play these voices unless they have been converted to some style . its confusing...

just continue installing this app, smae message on my 9500 i just ignored it.

i dont know what software you need to convert them on the 6600 , as much as i like the 6600 its becoming out dated and many new apps dont work too good on it. the txt file shows what way u gotta convert it but dosnt say how you convert it... so i dunno i put it on dads 6600 and hes happy with out sound

Although I don't have a MMC big enough to test the app in combination with a map, Tom Tom installed (ignoring the warning) perfectly on my 6630.

this is the tomtom map archive so u can see if ur sountry is supported as you keep asking for maps that dont exist in some areas so go here and find out weather ur country is supported h++p://www.tomtom.com/plus/services/mds.php

some of the maps are huge any way 400mb+ so evn if they did post it on this site it would be in a zillion files so its not very practical at all, the only one that is probably worth uploading is Australia as its only 74mb and i can put it into 4 files

I've installed Canary_Island map coz it's too small just to test the program -installed on e:\tomtom\Canary_Island-, however, the program shows "No maps found", any suggestions?!

Put all files in Your tomtom map, no subdirectory!

you need to put the files in a directory on the root of your mmc
something like: e:\Canary_Island
this is the only way it will work :)

Thank you "The Wiep" it worked, however, I postfixed the folder with "Map" word, something like e:\Canary_Islands-Map. The program recognised it instantly! cheers mate

normally you should be able to name it anyway you want although by postfixing it with map it's easier for you to keep track of them

u can request maps all u want but they are so friggin big no 1 will post them, and evn if i did want to post them this site wont let me, ive tried to post it on 3 diffrent computers and still i cant so it must be this g0d damn server....

i have tried a few times trying to use the voices on my 3230, but they never work, i have tried the above mthod of copying the three files from the voice folder, then pasting them in the e:/ drive of my dv rsmmc card, can anyone help,

the folder looks exactly like what i do, i don't kow what to do, shall i re-install tomtom again, do you think its a software fault. can you tell me if there are certain settings you have to have on thge tomtom, i mean i set the voice and it says voice selected but when i try to test it or use the satnav, it has no voice, i don't know whats happening,

So lets see, I have this version on my 6630 and it´s working perfectly.

It's a 130 MB download...
It has the maps of Spain, Portugal and Canarias.
Just extract the rar file and copy what's inside to your MMC.
How:
Easy...
Use o menory card reader (Don´t use bluetooth, PCSuite, or whatever)
You must put in the root of your memory card the following directories:
Canary_Islands-Map
itn
raster
voices
Iberia-Map
Licences
schemes
TomTom
The System folder has inside 2 sub directories:
1 - apps\ttmobile
\ttnavcontacts
2 - recogs\TTBOOTKICK.MDL
Now, open the System folder of your memory card, and copy to the apps
folder the 2 directories of number 1.
Copy the file of number 2 inside the recogs folder.
That's all folks.

No, I don't have any more maps.(Try emule).
No, I don´t know if it works on N70,NGage, Boing 747 or Ferrari.

Hi! There is no Greek map on TomTom site.Believe me! I read on PC Master that they will produce a greek map this year! Until then you can use Route66's Mobile7!!!! It has an Athens map!

Yeah you do need a seperate reciever, do a search on ebay for BT-77 and you'll find one that is suitable for the phone.. I've just had one of these delivered and it works a treat on it aswell..

You use something like nokia manager and then you run the .sis file and it'll unpack it and install to the phone...

IT'll give you some info like "Finished unpacking, finish installing from phone"

Then on your phone it'll ask you to continue installing, and will come up with a message saying "this is not compatible with your phone, continue installing?", select continue and it'll ask where you want it installed, either phone or memory card. Install it to the memory card.

You'll then need some maps and voices to complete this installation...

hey what i dont get is i have downloaded many tomtom programs which are like over 100mb. None of them let you install the actuall program. I then went on a p2p and found a small file which was a sis file. For me to use tomtom i have to install that sis file then copy all the folders to my mobile then it works proper. I was wondering where would i find the latest sis file as i have got a old tomtom program on the phone and im 100% sure its not version 5.2. If it is in this topic that the post regards could someone just post the sis file here thanks. v grateful

Yepp, so far i know, Yes!

I installed it on my 6600 successfully but the voices don't work. The British version didn't work either; it crashed TT instead. Does anyone have any voices that are 16KHz so they'd work on 6600? Thanks in advance. Also, what bluetooth GPS do you guys recommend (that is cheap--LOL)?

JPG maps can not be used with TomTom. You need the maps in the proprietary format. You can use jpg maps with SmartComGPS.

There's a fair amount of people asking if this works on various phones but not had any replies (although if they looked through the thread they'd see which ones).

From experience i know it works on the following phones..


Nokia 6630
Nokia 6680
Nokia 3230
Nokia N-70

As i've installed Tomtom for these phones.

Yes you do need a GPS reciever, i personally use a BT-77

I've also got hold of an original Tomtom Disk with all the maps for europe (including the plus ones - main countries with the major roads from europe), and i install the maps from that onto my PC and it'll create 2 folders, the map folder and a zip one, which i then copy across to my phone's memory card.

I've found that once you've installed the main program on your memory card you need to have the maps installed in the top level folder in their own folders.


so my top level folder on my memory card has got

tomtom
great-britain-plus-map
voices
zips

The celeb voices have 3 files..

.bmp -> image of celeb
.chk
.vif

These are in the voices folder in the top folder

The postcode extras so you can navigate postcode -> postcode (UK) are stored in the zip folder

Any extras needed, like speedcams, location of cash points (POI's) are stored in the Map directory


In total my map install is just over the 200Mb mark and will fit onto a 256Mb Memory card with little space left for other things, ideally you need a 512Mb card to have fun.

Yes, you can. Only problem is that you cannot have realtime tracking of your position. A GPS receiver is dead cheap nowdays. An Holux GPSlim 236 will set you back around €100 with shipping included...

TomTom mobile client and Maps only work on symbian phones (eg nokia 6630)
If TTM asks you for an activation code after u installed a new map means that your client is not cracked properly. U need a cracked tomtom.app file that you have to overwrite in the system\app\tomtom folder.

I surprised that ppl are asking if they need a seperate GPS device.... ofcause you do!

Extra maps can be found on the usual P2P programs.

Ive got all maps of Europe. So if you need something PM me.

You have the navigator version there which is made for PDAs. Are you installing on a s60 phone? If yes then you need Tomtom mobile sis file.

Keep the map and voices they are the same for Navigator or mobile. You have already downloaded most of the program.

it's prolly cause you downloaded too much info already.

Nota: los mapas nuevos (v6.x) funcionan con una particularidad: se ha de tener instalado un mapa de los antiguos, en este caso Canarias para que no te pida activacion en los mapas nuevos.

Hi. I have installed tomtom to my mmc micro card en putted the 3 files for voices in the tomtom map and it work.
But when I put the files of Australia in the tomtom map or just on E:\ he cant find any maps.

Hey Jorn, put your map files in a folder and name it "Australia-Map" on e. for example: e:\Australia-Map

No didn't work after I select a voice he cant find a map.
