View Full Version : WAY TO CHANGE NOKIA 6680 FONT

I HV FOUND OUT A WAY (From Other Forum, Credit goes to Original Poster)

U CAN TRY THIS

1* I've copied the desired font to my E: drive
2* Use the font remover to remove fonts
3* I use Fexplorer, create new folder 'Fonts' in C:/System/
4* I then copied my desired font from E: and paste it to C:/System/Fonts
5* I then go to Z:/System/Fonts
Noticed there are 5 types of fonts namely,
Browsereur.gdr
CalcEur.gdr
Ceurope.gdr
11x12_latin.gdr
15x16_latin.gdr

6* Go back to C:/System/Fonts which contain my desired font and
rename it to 11x12_latin.gdr
7* Now, I go back to my E: and copied again my desired font
8* Paste it again to C:/System/Fonts
9* Now my just pasted font (my desired font), I rename it to 15x16_latin.gdr
10* Now my C:/System/Fonts contains:
11x12_latin.gdr
15x16_latin.gdr

I stops here and restart the phone and it works, but I think you can try to do the same renaming your desired font to the other three:
Browsereur.gdr
CalcEur.gdr
Ceurope.gdr

johnzzz....u probably renamed the wrong file...you're fone will be stock in the logo if you did the wrong renaming

pierre is right, it happened to me also when i tried to rename the other 3 files.just change the 2 files only. you have to reformat your phone..

i have a better way for nokia 6680 i didnt have to think much i just noticed it 2day not much work to be done contact me by msn messenger dead_cloud@hotmail.com or yahoo messenger norbertshenoy2002@yahoo.com i am online most of the time no hard feels to rahuldev

hey when i did this method i get the fonts...but my phone will restart after every call made..do you experience that??by the way im using 6680. pls help me!

buggy firmware perhaps? Restart your phone in 'safe mode' using the pencil key, remove these fonts and it'll revert to the default ones after you restart again....or format your phone as a last resort.

there really isn't any sense in using the fonts if you're mobile has compatibility issues with em. You could try other fonts though.

Damm!!! I followed the procedurs given & my phone can't restart. Stuck at NOKIA LOGO. Even after i remove the batt and retart again.

Format the phone & it ok now......

which procedur did I miss???? hmmmmmmm.....

how to format the phone if that phone does't whon to restart?please tell me, until now my phone still death.....plz

Hard reset. Look in the guide in the How to section itself - How to work with your s60 device.

GDR fonts available in the forum. There's also a guide to creating them in this section

I dont know why people use kind of procedure in changing there font. Just use the normal way of changing the fonts. search the forum in how to change the fonts in your 6680

Actually it is this thread itself :|

In any case, the normal way as you're saying, isn't it copying to the /system/fonts folder? If so, you would notice it doesn't work in some devices, e.g in 6630 and 6680.
