engager 3rd January 2006, 15:43 RealPlayer for Pocket pc
Key Features:
Playback of RealAudio, RealVideo and 3GPP compliant content via streaming or download*
Seamless integration with the RealPlayer for PC to drag and drop MP3 and RealAudio files to devices*
Access to news, sports, movies, music and radio content via RealPlayer Mobile Media Guide*
TRANSFERRING FILES TO YOUR POCKET PC DEVICE
There are two ways to transfer files to your Pocket PC device:
Use ActiveSync to transfer files from your PC
Use this method to transfer all types of RealMedia clips.
Make sure that you have ActiveSync installed and that you have established a connection with your Pocket PC device.
Open ActiveSync on your PC.
Click on the Explore button located in the ActiveSync toolbar.
On your PC navigate to the location where you saved the RealMedia files you desire to transfer (eg. The desktop or a specific directory).
Drag and drop, or copy and paste, the desired media files from this location to the "My Documents" Folder on your Pocket PC device. "My Documents" should be the folder that opens when you start Explore. If not, navigate to it.
You will see a "Transferring Files" dialog box. Your files are being transferred to your device over the USB connection.
The desired media files should now be on your Pocket PC device and available for playback.
Enjoy!

Hi, if You want a good *.avi player (divx, xvid, etc.) You must install a TCPMP - that is the best solution for PPC (and PALM) handheld.

engager 5th January 2006, 15:38 is his TCPMP much ebetter than smartmovie playr?
SMARTMOVIE player is far superior to TCPMP!
For one thing, the quality of conversions are greater, and also, the file size, after conversion, is smaller, too! :)
Enjoy! :)

Why do we need a software for *.avi and another for *.others?
Why must we waste the phone resource for audio-video?
You folks should try to find an all-in-one appz that supports all kinda audio-video files. Avoid installing many appz for only one purpose, that's my advice to keep yr PPc works faster.
engager 6th January 2006, 20:09 binhpvt, in an ideal World, many 'all-in-one' products would be great! Sometimes it aint possible, dude!
Perhaps you know better than us...why don't you recommend an 'all-in-one' video application that serves every format, and works fast! :)
binhpvt 9th January 2006, 17:13 he he, you're absolutely right, my dear engager.
Actually, you know full well that there really exists app that support all kinda popular file types with acceptable quality.
Need better quality? use yr laptop.
anyway , u r very cool mod.

Cheers for the favourable comments, too! ;)

So long as the video file is 3GPP, then you should be able to view it in this format, using RealOnePlayer!;)
Hope this helps!:D

fuse29 6th September 2006, 15:43 ottok, realone player can only play real media files (rm, rmvb, ra)
I've had instaled v2.0.028, and i can't open any of these files even 3gp, is it that i'm missing some sort of codec? most of my videos are in .rmvb and i really like to transfer them to my wm5 instead of converting it to .avi first as its too time consuming.. i'm using 6828, or is it that its not compatible with wm5.
btw, this version also can't be view in landscape, it only cover about 3/4 of the pda's screen, the rest is black portion when switch the pda to landscape mode.

@fuse,
real one player can't play .3gp nor .avi format & not support landscape mode yet. it's support only real media files. can you post example of the .rmvb (less then 1mb, please)? fyi, i'm using it on my dopod 818pro (wm5) (a.k.a HTC Prophet). n you don't have to install additional codec.
plabo 7th September 2006, 18:52 i still cant get to install this beta version as well!
my device is the cingular 8125
when ever i install it, it gives me a message that the active sync shoudl be greater than version 3.1...i have version 4
whats the prob with this real player?
