Yes people on the old firmware (v3.42.1) can actually play mp3 files that is converted to/with Ogg codec on your phone as ringtones the way you would do for midi or wav files! All you have to do is find an mp3 song and convert it to/with

Ogg format/codec. The mp3 would then have an .ogg extension. The best FREE mp3 converter is the dBpowerAMP, its a must have if you havent got it yet.

Those on firmware v4.09.1 can now have Ogg files as the ringtones by downloading the Oggplay-S60-MMF-1.6.1.

Version v1.6.2 released! A much more stable version and now it allows those on frimware v5.27.0 can have ogg files as their ringtones too! Download the Oggplay-S60-MMF-1.6.2.

What about v5.53.0?

Not exactly MP3 ringtones though... Since you have to convert to OGG.

It has to be 48kbps if u want a good quality sound bcoz the 6600 speaker is not that new. Anyway the important thing is that they work and they work. If u can't select them just move the mp3s in to ur ringtone folder in the system.
