To apply update:

I might suggest you to disable your symantec first before applying the update.

Inside this zip archive you will find another 2 files (savce.def & script.dis)

You should copy only this files to c:\system\apps\symcs (overwrite them)

errm.. i own a N70.
it use to have Symantec Mobile AntiVirus by default. when i bought from the shop. ( singapore M1)
but after i format my phone, the Symantec Mobile AntiVirus could not b found.
any1 know where i can get the program back??

ermm.. i did a search on it.. but i cant find..
errmm the link u gave, from the screen shot it dont seems like what i use to have. my is like norton antivirus or Symantec AntiVirus.

i found it..

I have the Symantec AV 2 yr. subscription installed on my 6630 and I tried updating it visa gprs and it said downloaded updates ..apllying.... and then it gives me error that "apply update failed" any ideas? thank you :)

Now Symantec must have gone insane :D They've added definitions for some windows viruses and adware... Check in the definitions some W32.Sober variants and some adware like adware.lst bar or something. How do they think it could be a threat to the symbian os?

I think symantec is one of the best antivirus solution but one thing which i hate about symentic is that it makes mobile very very slow.

somebody gott ahelp me. i copied all the mentioned files to the respective folder, now my hp froze. when i tried to restart it it could not even switch on. i'm using a 6260...... any clues?

This should not happen.

Try to remove the mmc and restart. You should try to remove and reinsert your battery before restarting too.

u can use the LUDownloader too to download the virus def by using the PC here i attach it, NO REG needed coz it's free from symantec :) for the HOW-TO-USE check the .rtf file.

Install on your N70 a phone browser bitter, Fexplorer 1.15... search it on the forum... and will see the folder "system"..

only one of two files excist to overwrite.the other one doesnt not exist anywhere. i did a search with fexplorer to find script.dis and nothing found on whole c and e so its an extra file

U can't conect thriugh gprs wap u have to use isp gprs and then u can update.

thanks for that quick reply, but i think i put the rong question.my computer can't see the folder c/system / from the phone.fexplorer is for the phone. i need omething for my pc because i can't paste virus definition.

u can't.. try getting a card reader.. like i said.. try to copy the def to maybe others folder to mmc via pc suite.. from phone use fexplorer and cut then paste at phone memory where the antivirus is placed and overwrite.. walla..
