Applies to most SE phones. Especially the new breeds of walkman phones, and k750i

If u have an infrared, or bluetooth device on your pc, u send the files to your phone and u'll receive it like a sms. (This method if for phones which do not have USB cable to connect to PC, then u have no choice but to do this)

please note: unlike nokia phones, SE or at least most of them, after receiving an installation file through bluetooth or infrared, will prompt u immediately to install it. If u choose no, thinking u'll install it later, well, u cant do that, as the file will be deleted. At the same time, if u click yes, after a successful installation, the file will auto delete itself.

Therefore, if u wanna transfer multiple games to your cellphone via this method, u'll have to do it one at a time.

But the recommended way would be to use a usb cable, and transfer the installation files to your phone. Save it in the folder memorycard(MMSEMC or something equivalent)> media files folder > Other.

Then, use the file manager to access the folder. The installation file will be there. Install, and enjoy.

my brother has a V800 and the process is much simpler. just transfer the file through the methode you wish and it will automatically install and be place on the right folder.

The k600i doesn't have expanded memory, but the internal 30MB+ is good enough to load all the games you want, although I have to do this one by one via Bluetooth.

yea, but that is extremely slow like i said earlier, cuz u have to receive one, and install that before u can proceed to the next. So u practically have to guide your phone through it. lol.

i'm using a sony ericsson k700i. i have downloaded the games into my com, but when it's sent over to my phone via infrared, it'll be saved in the others folder which means that my phone can't read it. so what should i do?

hmmmm, saved in others folder? shouldnt be...wat should happen is, u will receive the file, then after finish sending your phone will ring, and you will receive a "new message". when u open, auto installation occurs.

i think i know what your problem is....
i also have k700i and if the files are put in the OTHERS folder, it's mean that the phone doesn't support the type of files the phone has received.....
in your case.....i think you didin't unzip the files and our k700i doesn't support *.zip nor *.rar....
so...to solve the problem....just unzip it first because all the files in this forum are in *.zip or *rar format....after tou unzip it then send it to your phone...
one more thing...if you downloaded games or application...make sure after you unzip it, it's in *.jar format...because k700i is java phone....

i m lost here plz help me.i download one game file from this web and i transfer to my other folder.. then when i try to access the folder from my phone.i can only send it and nothing else i cant install it! help me

lol!!! its easy. When your sony erricson phone is connected to the computer through USB cable, your memory card actually becomes 'disconnected' from your phone. So in order to see the files, u have to DISCONNECT your phone from the usb cable.

So, what u need to do is, send the files to your phone, as i said in the first post in this thread.

Then, DISCONNECT the phone from your cable.

finally, browse your phone with the file explorer that comes to your phone, and select the files. Installation then occurs.

Make sure u've extracted the files from the zip folders in your computer before transfering to your phone though. The files that u want to be sent to that folder in your phone must have the extension .jar.

Some programs like myphoto or fileprotect needs us to install the jad file, so how can we install jad file into a K750i?

.jad? hmmm, i'm not too sure about that. usually u dont need to install the jad dude. just jar. Have u tried pasting the jad straight into the place where the jar file is found? As in like next to it? As in after install, there will be a jar file in your phone menu, its the java program for the game etc. Try pasting jad next to it. I believe the file names have to be the same, so after installation if not the same, maybe u have to rename .jad. give it a try?

But, if you dont have the jad files, programs like MObyexplorer, a program that can be used t encrypt and manage files on your k750i/w800i, you will always be floodee by the permission security box. Eg "allow **** to read user data"

If u can install the jad, u can bypass that.

the jad file i believe, is for some nokia phones, which cant install the jar without the jad file. i dont think the jad contains the permission stuff. its not like a crack or somethings. the jad is for installation of jar for some phones which needs it. thats what i believe, read about it before somewhere

you sae only a *jar game to sony ericsson in the folder other

if you have m stick you go ms stick/media files/other and you sae your file

there

then you go to your pfone in this folder and you press install then you press

where you want to save you game/program to games or to programs

just one thing... i have a problem with *.rar things... i have a k750.. i change the application to *.jar but it says "Operation Failed"

It's a mistake to rename the.rar file into .jar. You must unrar the file to your pc with winrar. You will find the .jar file and then simply transfer it to your phone via usb cable in others folder. It's easy then to install it...

Hi from me guys...
I have downloaded the sexy poker 2004, i unzip it, and i transefered it to my phone. It has many files, but i don't find any .jar file. How can i install it??

I don't know alot about phones, but I think that the .rar files are either the .jar file rared into it, or simply renamed from the .jar file. So if you unrared it and found many small files inside it, you should try the method that roueruru used - by renaming the .rar file extension to .jar. It should work.

hello guys, i've download sveral games like LOTR, Splinter Cell and the likes; unzipped the files but can't see any install file tha i can use to install on my phone (K610i), nor there is no file that I could rename to .jar...plus when I unzipped the file, it unzipped several files with an additonal folder for music and other class files...what process should i have to take to install these great games on my phone???? help!!!

If you unzipped the file and found a lot of files inside, (e.g. Class, Manifest etc.) delete the unzipped files and instead of unzipping the file, try changing the .zip extension at the end to .jar. It should work.
P.S. If there isn't an extension at the end of the filename, then Click "Tools" > "Options" > "View" tab > Uncheck "Hide extension for known file types" > Click "Ok". The extensions should appear.

hi, i have a k610i, and i did the transfer of the .jar file as u instructed.... i got into the file manager, and the .jar did appear.... but i can only send it.. there was not a word about install..... what should i do??? i've tried tranfering the .jar file using both bluetooth and USB method.... i'm having the same problem as deathperad, btw i've tried all the available buttons on the phone and it didn't work.(including the joystick)
all i can do is send, move or rename it.

i'm using the k610im model.

How to browse file in my external memory (MStick Pro) from my SEK750i? I already downloaded themes, according to How To tutorials, it can be sent through bluetooth or infrared. But my laptop has no infrared or bluetooth. I only have USB cable. How to install themes which I already stored in my external memory?

My favourite way is to use the freeware myphoneexplorer and a usb cable/bt dongle/irda dongle and connect the phone to myphoneexplorer and go files at the top and choose the big java button. You can send multiple files.

i agree with you, it is much more simple using this freeware.
i use a bluetooth, coz i'm affraid that frequent usage of cable will damage the port.

hi, i'm kinda new to this forum and i need a bit of help...
my phone is W710i and i noe how to download the games to my phone trough basic way but wen it comes to a .rar. file...i tried renaming it to .jar. then it becomes a java file but wen i tried to install the game in my phone it says operation failed...somhow it din bcome a java file i guess...pls help...

You are suppose to rename only those rar file which have the .claas and meta files in it...
Open a rar file with winrar...
If it has a .jar files than extract it and install the .jar...
If it does not have a rar file and has lot of.class metafn files than rename it to .jsr and install...
