I think Skype is really dependent on the Internet connection speed. Using on Dopod 900 and there is some lag. The chat function works well though.

I'm not sure about the mini but would say I give it a 7 out of 10. Any time better than bringing the notebook with me everywhere I go.

Cheers.

i have the same problem, and i know what is going on. yours o2 xda is the same pda as my mda vario in t-mobile, and we have processor speed less than 200mhz, and this version of skype requires at least 312mhz for low cpu version.so we cannot do anything about it. maybey they gonna prepare version for veeeeeeeeeeery slow cpu :)

Are you guys using wi-fi sdio or gprs ? Coz it's said in skype website that gprs connection is unappropriate for voice calls.

Hi, just to clarify, the O2 Xda Mini is on 416mhz, so probably it's other reasons..

i have installed skype in my HTC TYTN and works great...
you need to have wifi connection or gprs internet or 3g internet and you can connect to your skype account, see who is online and make text chat or make voice call for FREE if the other has internet connection too.
so you can make voice call with someone who is at his computer at home with internet connection and connected to his skype, OR with anyone has installed skype in his pocket pc and has internet connection with wifi, gprs or 3g connection...
Anyone that has further questions i can answer to all !!!
hope i helped...

usa country code is 1

yes mgreyhound is right usa country code is 1 but you may need to enter a + before it for skype to work also you need to check if you have to omit the first digit of the number you normally call

for example uk is code 44
if i am in uk and not in london then i have to dial 020 to get london
but if i call from abroad it becomes +4420.....

if anyone is having problems telling the country codes and whether or not you need to leave any digits out visit "http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/publisha.content/en/find/international/international.publisha" there's a really easy tool there which should help

Guys, Skype is VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) with which you can call for free computers or PDA that have skype connection.

In order to call landlines or mobil phones you have to buy credit from Skype which is definitely much cheaper then normal connections.

However the processor speed for skype is very important. any think less then 400 mghz will end up with very slow and very low quality connection.
