powerpow 22nd January 2006, 05:02 great software..thanks man appreciate it.
Schrakk 22nd January 2006, 17:00 Hi thanks for posting
when i launch this version, i have a message "this i an illegal license..." and i shuts down.
i can't use PM now...
What can i do?
tochin 22nd January 2006, 17:52 same thing happened to me sir, need help .
virus_crac 22nd January 2006, 17:57 This is the software which I was looking for and I think my search is over now
tochin 22nd January 2006, 19:00 when that happen use registry editor and finds the registry for pocket music player and rename it or delete it.(i cant remember which one is it) now u should be able to start pocketmusic again and try another serial. dun use the one that says illegal licence. it took me a while to find this out.
is it a program that i have to install, please explain further thanks.
cutefox 22nd January 2006, 19:13 i use resco registry editor to edit registry, it comes with resco explorer 2005 u jus hav to reinstall resco explorer if you dont have it. another alternative is to go back to your previous pocket music version that works for u and try to live with it. or else you have to use the above method. this 4.03 version jus seems to have illegal licence checker.
engager 22nd January 2006, 19:21 cutefox, it's unfortunate that you have a problem, dude! May well be a compatibilty issue, as this app works fine for me, and others! :)
theej 23rd January 2006, 02:56 hmm, same stuff happened to me (with the licence) :S, very strange, was already running this app for a couple weeks now (the 4.03 version), and suddenly today it went crazy about licence.
I think this app phones home, problems started when i connected to the network today for the shared music :S (but have done it before without problems), and crashed :S, very strange....
investigating right now, looking for the regkey or file to delete/modify and make it work again:S
Perhaps other people have some ideas about this?
ps. these are the keys which are added during installation, but there are some more:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\ PocketMusic]
"Type"=dword:00000004
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"Options"=dword:00000001
"DLL"="\\Windows\\pmtodayp.dll"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Event\ CallConnect\PocketMusic]
"class"="PocketMusic"
"ConnectMsg"=dword:00002745
"DisconnectMsg"=dword:00002746
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Event\ IncomingCall\PocketMusic]
"class"="PocketMusic"
"IncomingBegMsg"=dword:00002745
cutefox 23rd January 2006, 05:40 this licence problem shoul start activating after the 14days trial. so for those of you who got it working becareful as this might happen after the 2wks time.
the key registry u need to change is in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PocketMind\PocketMusic
what i did was change the directory name of above "PocketMusic" to "PocketMusica" or anything else eg. "PocketMusic2" , "PocketMusi"
then reset the device and run pocketmusic again, now pocket music will think you are running pocket music for the 1st time again. so you can register with another serial that wont trigger the illegal licence problem. if the problem exist again after 2wks or few days later, then repeat process with another serial till you got a working one.
btw all your settings of pocket music will be lost with this method, but it wont be too hard to set them up again.
hope this helps.. ^^
engager 23rd January 2006, 09:37 theej & cutefox, cheers for the feedback on this grey area! I never connectmy PPC software up to the internet for downloading purposes, except with Opera & Profimail! My music is downloaded using the PC! :)
Hopefully others will learn from your misfortune!

helmi_c 24th January 2006, 13:20 The trick with PM for me is... use keygen not serial number... here I've post the keygen...
for those who already install with 'serial number' u must uninstall it first, clean uninstall (clean the PM From registry 2) and install PM with SN produce by this Keygen...
hopes it'll help...and goodluck!

cutefox 1st February 2006, 04:36 i use serial, so far i dun hav problem with this serial im using. i suggest using the keygen since they generate other serials.. probably harder for them to track the one that is used and not while serials can be use by heaps of ppl already.

zedd 28th February 2006, 19:28 Sorry for being so dumb,but I am a new pocket PC user. I have o2 mini XDA
How do I reset my device ? I Know it turns off if I remove my battery cover but that seems lika bad way to do it..
Thanx in advance
Zedd
madhero01 28th February 2006, 20:27 After using this, I discovered that it resets my mp3 ringtone to the windows default tone. When I try to change it using the notifications settings, it cannot load. Even when I use PhoneAlarm to set the ringtone, it doesn't work either... Anyone faces the same problem? I'm using this cos it allows me to make different playlists, which WM10 and TCPMP doesn't seem to be able to do... Anyone knows how?
Rewired 1st March 2006, 00:12 Check your file associations. Uncheck all file types with pocket music.
Your ringing tone will revert back to normal.

just press the reset button at the bottom part of your device..theres a tiny hole there just right beside the earphone jack...use your stylus to press it

qwerty111 2nd March 2006, 09:39 Is the treo a pocket pc? No? I thought not. Next time use your common sense instead of asking 3 questions when it says PocketPC at the top.
dinoalbert 2nd March 2006, 10:27 bro, Im not a fan of Palm devices also, but I dont know if you are updated with Windows Mobile world...but there is already a Treo that runs on Windows Mobile OS...Windows Mobile 5.0 :)

Do not associate .wma file with PocketMusic.
Go to
<Option>
<Player Option>
<File Types>
Select file types to associate.
This will help
xpcoolz 4th April 2006, 12:43 it happens also with me, but i figure it out..
USE A REGISTRY EDITOR!!!
go to HKLM/Software/PocketMind/PocketMusic
find "ex"
set the DWORD value to "0" (without ""), if your pocketmusic showing "Illegal copy bla bla bla.." the "ex" value will set to "1", by changing it back to "0" will reset it.. hope it works for you, cos it does for me.
oh yeah, you can also change the serial number if the "ex" thinggy doesn't work anymore (like mine..), just make sure the "ex" is still "0" and change the serial number "FPRegCode30" with the keygen supplied in this thread...
yooo thx for your keygen.. Sorry dude, i forgot your user name.. :p

ngleminh 15th May 2006, 14:31 Can AAC Plugin play aacPlus version 2 (with Parametric Stereo) well?
To play aacPlus v2 music file (.aac extension), I have been using The Core Pocket Media Player (TCPMP) at
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download
for months.

Update:
Well, it's been over a week now since I downloaded and installed this program and it works GREAT! No problems with the registry or anything. I ended up using the keygen provided with the program.
If for some reason the program fails to function, I'll let everyone know.

Concerning the illegal license thing, the above worked for me, thanks for the help. I had to change the value for the key "ex" to 0. Then i deleted the "FPRegCode30" key. Use keygen to generate a serial number, and then ran PocketMusic. It asked for the reg code and so far no problems. If this happens again in 2 weeks, I'll post here.
