I think you know all the symbian phones reduce about 50% the volume of ringtone (any type, midi aac ogg wav) when headphone is plugged. I want that the phone rings at same volume everytime, how remove this limitation? (maybe a setting in a .ini file? or some program or trick..)

Thanks

I thought this is normal and there's nothing which can be done..... Or maybe we should just live with it..... T.T ..... But a system tweak or program to fix this will just be a wish come true.

In my opinion, there is no noticeable sound difference. I wouldn't worry about it.

even i have noticed this in my 6600. when i plug the headset (my earphones already in my ears) for a fraction of a second the sound is really high and then it gets reduced. But when i adjust the headset like it is not fully inside the socket provided..... by some manipulation in the adjustment..... i get a very high volume in the headset. while inserting it in the phone .......... yes it is very loud and after a fraction of a second it goes down.

it's depend to the size of speaker. if you wanna loud sound just plug into some amplifier then you'll get it. BTW where did you get this ridiculous information?

Anyway guys when u plug an headset on a nokia symbian phone the OS recognize them and displays an icon on the "tray" (where BT icons appear too), PLUS it reduces the speaker volume by 40-50% making it very low during a ring.
On the opposite if u pull out the headset during a ring the speaker will loud up as normal.
This is caused from a new "headset profile" that comes when the headset is plugged, bypassing the profile currently using!
Due for this it must be a setting that the os reads for headset.. it could be an .ini file in c: or a setting readed on ROM FW

i know what u mean man... but i think it's a default thing cuz u don't need the ringtone to sound loud as long as u have ur head set on... so i guess u can't modify that... not realy sure!

@aa10: once again u are offtopic in my opinion and u post a lot of nonsens.
i don't mean to offend u but u don't realy know what u are talking about...

i doubt hardware pieces of a phone can be this simply controled but some files. i think its just a problem with the headset itself.

I don't think so, it's caused by software the Nokia programmers writed. classless is right when he say is useless that the phone loud the ring when u've the headphone in your hear, but at the same time it's boring to unplug the headset everytime we don't use it.. the point is that we have to choose if reduce it or do nothing!

Anyway the FW half cuts the volume, even if we try all the profiles in settings->headset. But somewhere the OS must read "how much" it has to lower that and I hope it's a setting stored into a .ini file!!
A debugger could be nice, but how to?
Have u got any suggestion (including write to Nokia)?

Nokia 6600 :
1. Plug in the headset
2. Menu > Tools > Settings > Enhancement > Enhancement in use > Loopset (works perfect with Ultramp3)

On 6630 - there is no way to do that :P

You can double the ring volume using PC (100%>>200%)
then use it when it ring it will bee half of 200% >>100% of the orginal sound:)
(it is only for mp3 and wav ) tones
