Guys i found the settings to do masks for icons but i'm unable to create a mask if anyone tells me how to do it it would be so helpful

the part of your image which you want to set as icon should be filled with white while the area of your image which you want to become transparent should be filled with black. that's it.

i'm not an expert but i just play around with the tools (magic wand is so cool) in photoshop.
