Hi everyone,
I am using Airtel GPRS Mobile Office and getting downloading speeds of 13 Kilobytes per second ( 115 kbps) .
I have a question why yahoo! voice chat doesnt works on Airtel conn ??
It works much better on a normal 4 kilobytes per sec. dialup connection. However it does connects to voice chat but disconnects in like 1 minute... anyone has a solution or any comments for this ?
Also not just yahoo! but also Gizmo ( [Only registered and activated users can see links] ) or Skype do the same.Voipbuster( [Only registered and activated users can see links] ) & MSN doesnt even connect to voice service.
Skype is best amongst all but it lags voice and cuts voice a lot.
Can anyone provide some alternate voice chat clients that work on Airtel connection?
Thank you!

Hi howsthet thanks for your reply ...can you please ask your friend if the same thing happens to him? also please ask him which app. he uses for voice chat.
Also if you have EDGE enabled handset then you can get good speeds like me too (Approx. 10kbps on avg. in day and 18 kbps in night) ...Also Ihave observed that in order to get bestspeeds you should have signal strentgh = 100%.

oh..I think Mumbai is very crowded place and many users must be there accessing Airtel GPRS ...thats why due to network congestion you get bad speeds.
I'll be looking forward to know which app. ur friend uses.

@ howsthet thats so strange to hear... maybe Airtel has good network in Kolkata then. They should maintain the standards in a city like Mumbai.

@ joy4u does yahoo mess. voice chat works well for you without frequent disconnections?
