View Full Version : .:Playstation 1 Games on PPC:.
Mr.Hurra 22nd February 2006, 18:24 Here is a complete gude how to play PS1 Games on your PPC.
I created this Topic, because there are some else in this forum, but here is the complete guide.
As first you need FpseCE 0.09.5:
h77p://***.fpsece.net/download.htm
this Program plays the converted PS1 files.
extract the zip-file and transfare it your ppc.
Then you need the BIOS file:
(BOIS.zip)
extract it and copy the file (SCPH1001.BIN) into x:\fpsece0095\bios
open fpsece.exe and load the bios file (options->bios->choose bios)
Compress your PS1 Game with PocketISO_2.0 (.Z)
or load some ripped here: h77p://***.emuparadise.org/roms/psxr/
Copy your Ripped ISO file (this one will follow later) to x:\fpsece0095\isos and play :)
I will add more things later...
have fun!
and use the thank-you button! ;D
load them and play :)
you can get some Games here:
here is a usefull compitability list fpr ps1 games :
h77p://projects.davejansen.com/fpsece/index.php
edit: this forum is very useful, too! (for ps1 games)

qwerty111 22nd February 2006, 18:51 Thanks.I'm gonna have to load up tekken on my 512. I have PS1 bios packs. I'll find them and upload. Done.
List of bios files:
bios41A.bin
DTLH3000.BIN
SCPH1000.BIN
SCPH1001.BIN
SCPH3000.BIN
SCPH5000.BIN
SCPH5500.bin
SCPH5502.bin
SCPH7000.bin
SCPH7001.bin
SCPH7003.bin
SCPH7502.bin
Ok I've been suggested to give a description of the bios files so here goes.
The BIOS is the code that starts your PS1 game (the white sony screen). Different bios files can be used and that can improve compatibilty. Also you need different bios files for a country locked game. SCPH1001 and SCPH7502 are regarded as the best USA and Japan bios'es
(respectivly)
Ok feel free to ask if you dont understand any of the above because i'm not a really good explainer.

leventero 1st April 2006, 15:51 Hi all,
binbij you said it woks on your mini.i think you prefer to the XDA II mini/XDA mini S. am i right?
So those mini's have 416MHZ/195MHZ. are your games running smooth?
Well i got the spv m500 similer to the XDA II mini and my tekken runs in slowmotion.
Guy am i missing something here?
hi to every1 i today juz buy mmini02.. can ani1 teach mi how to master this phone for playing games nid wad appt plz post here and teach mi coz i not realli know hoe to use this phone.. thanks for helping really thanks...
MMansoor 10th May 2007, 12:49 I just tried the emulator on my 02 XDA Mini S, TI-OMAP 195 MHz, O/Ced to 234 MHz.
Runs very nicely, as far as the graphics and sounds are concerned, no apparent glitches.
FPS is way below playable, 9-10 fps.
I doubt that even the X-Scale processors in the range 500-600 Mhz would be faring significantly better, but if someone has tried it on those, do let us know.
hanzo 10th May 2007, 13:17 1. You've just dig out one year old topic... hurray... :/
2. It is quite playable on 500 mhz machines, it just depend on if game is very 3d intense. on my 400 mhz tytn it's slower than it should be, but fast enough to play final fantasy VII
3. it is mainly developed for machines with 3d acceleration onbard like one in tho dell axims (especially new version of the emulator)
BlackSoil 10th May 2007, 17:05 I just tried the emulator on my 02 XDA Mini S, TI-OMAP 195 MHz, O/Ced to 234 MHz.

nice info... by the way, what kinds of games are that?
I'll have a try on my 818 ^^,
MMansoor 11th May 2007, 09:05 Sorry, I forgot to mention that I tried out tekken 3. That was the only game I tested. Was using a cut-down rom (~30MB), without the videos and music, so couldn't test those. Other than that, the game was running flawlessly.
I find hanzo's comments entirely believable, after I've seen some benchmarks for the HTC Wizard. Even if its not discernable in normal usage, the TI-OMAP equipped with the wizard really does lag (a lot) in cpu and graphics intensive applications, so this emulator just might be playable on a high powered x-scale processor.
swayam_c 5th July 2007, 15:21 I have a o2 neo (HTC prophet) , I installed it...i downloaded the game driver, but I cant play it...its too slow...
Is there anyway I could make it to work?
bin_ok 9th July 2007, 16:43 wooow it's cool...
Kaiji 25th July 2007, 06:58 dear all,i've downloaded tekken3 and used pocketIso to compress then copied the result to my ppc, but why the game is running very slow.Fps only max 80.how do i solve this problem or there is any better way to compress?
ashiff 25th July 2007, 08:05 do u guys have digimon game?
dragosh 26th July 2007, 05:41 do the games have to be ntsc or pal?
kiecool 31st July 2007, 08:13 anyone know how to take the iso file from the ps' cd?
Mr.Hurra 31st July 2007, 13:48 Read the last Pages, I posted how to do that.
BTW: It would be great if anyone could upload some ripped Games here.
kiecool 31st July 2007, 16:46 Mr Hurra I mean how to make the iso file from the ps cd..I mean when you have put your cd at your computer cd rom..how to make it into iso..the one that you mention is ripping the iso file(the cd data has becoming an iso n you want to rip it for lower size of the iso)..so can help me?? Thx :)
rafazafar 12th August 2007, 08:13 hey guys, im using an ASUS p535, Do you think it can handle the ps1 emu? thanks.
terron999 1st September 2007, 05:59 im using asus p525 i overklocked it to 615 mhz .and colin 2 runs at 10 fps teken 130 fps.it deepends on a game i think.
leventero 4th September 2007, 04:39 hai guys,
I tried this emu about 1 1/2 years ago with tekken..no matter what i did it couldnt work properly .left enough RAM,overclocked it..i used a qtek s100/spvm500 with Intel Bulverde 416MHz processor..and it was in slowmotion.im positif that our processors are to slow maybe when a 1ghz processor comes out that it work so i think its a waist of time
UndeadDevil 4th September 2007, 17:32 you cant run ps2 games on your pc, so you think it would run on ppc????
Since when can you not run ps2 games on a PC? On my machine I can run almost any ps2 game through emulator (PCSX2)
However to run ps2 game require like 5ghz, compared to the average 400mhz PDA, so your right, never on a PDA.
znzalooc 23rd April 2008, 02:13 hi does anyone know how to work the psx emulator for the gp2x?
templargfx 26th April 2008, 13:15 Firstly, head to the fpsece website and download the 0.09.6 Beta from there forum (search google for fpsece), its got more options, and runs game better thanks to the new graphics driver.
I have 2 Pocket PC's a Dell Axim x51 and an IPAQ rx4240, here are my results :
FPSECE .096 settings :
BIOS : SCPH1001.BIN (USA ROM)
Country : USA
CPU MODE : Recompiler
CPU TYPE : ARMV5(axim)ARMV4(IPAQ)
MISC->GFX DRIVER : GAPI
MISC FAST BOOT : ON
MISC FRAME SKIP : ON
MISC DISPLAY : Portait (always use portrait, all versions of the emulator dont rotate the DPAD on startup in landscape modes, so you have to change the display mode anyway to reset the dpad)
Games Tested :
Gran Turismo 1
averages around the 20-30fps mark, but the game runs at a constant 0.75xRealtime (lap second counter used to guage). Its extremely playable, just a little slower than normal. No idea why, nothing I do can make this game run at real time. I've tried Pal/NTSC/Jap versions of the game, and also all the available roms.
When pocketISO'ing you must NOT rip the video out. if you do, the game wont start past the disclaimer. get rid of the music tho, the music skips and is annoying as hell.
Mechwarrior 2
Best running game I have, runs at around 30fps almost all the time. seems to be running at realtime, but I think it might be just a shave under. definately not noticable. rip everything out of the ISO, there not needed. If you leave the videos in, they arent synced to the sound and that kinda spoils the whole reason why you would have them there anyway.
On screen buttons are an absolute must for this (unless you have a bluetooth gamepad) I recommend control setup 4 in the game options.
Raiden DX
Like GT1, runs at .75 realtime. thats ok for raiden, cos its a friggin hard game anyway, and the dpad isnt too raiden friendly. runs at around 20fps, slows down a little when you setoff the multi bomb. set the game screen option to HORIZONTAL. then save to mem card to keep the setting. switch FPSECE into LEFT LANDSCAPE mode and enjoy awesome arcade like raiden! (something you couldnt really do with a real playstation, without tipping your TV on its side)
Ridge Racer Type 4
runs slower than GT1, about .65 realtime. fps around the 15-20 mark, and lower in heavy polygon areas. the game is playable, but its sorta like slo mo. original RR is supposed to be faster, but I cant find an image of it.
Macross SDF1
Runs realtime, constant 50fps on the axim. petty the game is a little crap LOL. but its pretty. fusion of 2D and 3D
I have now done one HELL of alot of messing around with this, so if you have questions, ask away, and I will try and help you!
Dann1 27th April 2008, 07:37 Thanx, I'll try it!!!
templargfx 27th April 2008, 10:19 MORE GAMES TESTED :
Legacy of Kain : Soul Reaver
runs at about 10-15 FPS. put it to 4 frame skip and the game runs realtime but looks jerky. all speach stuffs up, and really this game is unplayable
Ridge Racer 1
Runs around the 20-25fps mark, about .8 realtime. some tracks are quite slow in areas. the game is very playable though, not as fun as RR4.
Gran Turismo 2
Arcade Disc wont get passed the disclaimer no matter how hard I try. the Simulation disc does let you in the game, but it expects an analogue controller, and the cursor always moves to the right. if you do manage to get into an option, the wireframe maps of the tracks stuff up. Some people have reported this one working.
Vagrant Story :
runs about 10-20 FPS. .75 realtime. this game sometimes completely stuffs up the sound with sqwelches instead of voices. once in the game its like playing it slo mo.
Wipeout 2097 :
runs 20-30 FPS mostly the higher end. extremely playable. hovers between .75 and realtime depending on the track details. most definately cool
Wipeout 3 Special Edition :
runs 20-25 fps, .75 realtime unfortunately. good fun, but feels like its in slo-mo
Medal Of Honor :
runs 15-20 fps. .75 realtime always, too hard to control and too slow to play :(
Driver :
runs at 15-25 fps. .75-.9 realtime. this is playable, but handbrake turns are extremely hard to control. still its cool to have on there :D
Space Hulk : Vengeance of the Blood Angles :
runs at 30fps constant in-game. also at realtime. extremely playable. the music (which you cant rip) skips like hell inthe menus and is SOOO annoying. also, the menu maps dont work, which is problematic. great fun tho!
Apocalypse :
runs at 20fps almost all the time. like most .75 realtime. game is crap, but its very playable
Autobahn Racer :
WOW this is a shit game. runs at 20fps, .75 realtime. probably the worst racing game ever (ok speed racer is worse :P )
Bourbon 1st June 2008, 06:46 Delete - Dupe post.
Bourbon 1st June 2008, 06:48 Since when can you not run ps2 games on a PC? On my machine I can run almost any ps2 game through emulator (PCSX2)
Well, for one, you quoted him out from 2006. PS2 games suck on PC, fact. You might be lucky enough to get a few games working smooth, but almost any game? I find that a load of BS, 5GB RAM or not. :/
sketchman 5th June 2008, 08:31 could somebody post some screen shots? plz
mrflashy 6th June 2008, 11:03 why not just ger yourself a PSP and hack it, then you can play PS1 games, and PSP games from your memory card, straight from an ISOimage,.
anakuper 7th June 2008, 07:31 hello, i`ve used ipaq hx2700.. and why i bought it?? it just to play this ps1 emulator, as you know hx2700 use 624mhz.. i must oc it to 700mhz to get smooth gameplay... what i`ve been played is king field, the game using gun con(by SEGA??), and some other that i forgot.. but the button is crap for playin game, and the speed just don`t cope to full play experience, so i sell them. btw, i use 0.094 fpsce.. 0.10 will out but not very soon, see their web at fpsece.net.
For playing PS1 games just buy PSP instead, it`s safer...........
Appofis 7th June 2008, 16:54 does anybody know where can i get some ps1 iso's, because i haven't any ps1 games at home
peter2fr 11th June 2008, 16:22 Thanks for this emulator PS
peter2fr 7th August 2008, 16:08 thanks for this version
ryo2 7th August 2008, 16:29 here is almost all games for sony psx.sega, nintendo and xbox, too.
errtu 8th August 2008, 08:10 what version should i download for ipaq 110? do you think chrono cross will run?
whitesyaugi 4th October 2008, 18:22 I tested the emulator on my 02 XDA IIs WM 6, Xscale 400 MHz, Overclocked to 530 MHz (Overclock using XCPU Scalar).
GTA 2 Runs very nicely, 25 fps with sound :good2:
final fantasy VII Runs very nicely, 30 fps with sound
tekken3 Runs slow, 15 fps with sound
Ridge Racer Type 4 Runs like slow motion with sound, 10 fps with sound
Mechwarrior 2 Runs Very nicely, 30 fps with sound
Gran Turismo 2 Runs very Slow, 9 fps with sound.
i think it just depend on what kind of game? some game on 530 mhz it's slower than 400 mhz.
fafik86 5th October 2008, 04:12 sory, i have one problem, on my samsung i780 i can't run program, i get info GAPI Initialization failed, PPC not supperted cbxPitch:2 cbyPitch:640, can someone help solve this problem?
NSCXP2005 5th October 2008, 04:18 does this run on the Samsung Omnia?
Rath_wolf 8th October 2008, 03:09 you cant run ps2 games on your pc, so you think it would run on ppc????
Maybe not in 2006, but I've gotten multiple games running past full speed as well as have had a plethora of others. A select few have even been able to access online play and shown proof of such.
