which is faster? the chameleon OS sounds good on paper but has anybody ever tried it? and is the Moto ROKR E2 the only or the first phone to have that OS?

It's a new OS and was said to be first implemented on Moto ROKR E2 with fast performance that is comparable with smartphones. Some say it might even be better than symbian.

thx for the link. i have read it and it seems like this OS will be a possible contender for symbian but it is still under developement. its a mix of linux and java technology.
you should read the review about that rokr2 however. the phone is briliant, they say its the best music phone around and that it makes some smartphones look inferior.

This is the first time i heard about chameleon os....linux & java..well i think that will be better than symbian..i guessing only ;) bcoz linux OS is more stable than window..but linux is hard to use though.br

I have used that OS in Moto in the Mobile Expo some months ago its fast as fast as symbian but it lacks one thingaccording to the repersentative JUNX interface has a phase point lower then symbian but greater than windows 5 that putes its performance aboube windows but lower to symbian and as its linux half controls the apps the java controls the interface but there is certainlly going to be software trouble as both have similar hardpoints

Linux smartphone marketting is increasing at a fast rate, so im quite sure chameleon will be able to stand up against symbian perhaps.

the Chameleon os maybe had a long way to go compare to symbian..

maybe some company will develop new software for this os(charmeleon)..but who's know when it does..a year or two maybe..but i still looking forward for new os since is in cool moto E2..beautiful sound system with a software that can be install.. :D

I think the ROKR E2 is the first one to use chameleon. The E2 seems like an excellent phone, it has one of the best screens in a cellphone ever. I think the screen was made by panasonic, it was mentioned in the review. The megapixel camera is below average though, it might be comparable to first-gen nokia mega-pixel cameras. I think E2 is the first true rival to the walkman phones, it might not beat them in sales due to the popularity of the walkman badge and won't be better in sound quality but atleast it's equal. The processor is fast too.

well symbian is more customizable but the chameleon might take over the symbian operating system as nokia is reverting back to the java based os and might switch to chamelion... but no one knows as chemelion is still under development...
