This is experiment v1.0

My first attempt at changing/replacing all the icons in a S60 theme. There are A BUNCH of icons!!!! :)

The icons used were from here Thanks to that poster for sharing these beautiful icons.

Quick summary:
New application icons and a few list icons
New analog clock *doesn't show right - don't know why
New digital clock
New highlight (selection) grid
New battery/signal meters

*REMEMBER: I'm still new at this, and I'm learning more every theme I create. Please post comments and feedback here.

This theme was created in Theme Studio 3.0, in high resolution for N90/N70 and other N series phones and phones that support scaling.

If you post the theme anywhere else, all I ask is my name is mentioned... and remains in the theme and on the file. I worked very hard on this. THANK YOU!

I also compiled this for low res handsets, though I can't test it - since I do not have any older theme capable S60 phones to test... please try it and let me know what you think.

Many thanks guys. I value the opinions of ppl on THIS forum :) You guys know your stuff.

A couple of problems I can't seem to figure out: Why the analog clock face shows up in the preview, but not on the phone - All I see is the "mask" portion, not the CLOCK FACE :( Don't know what I'm doing wrong. The digital clock shows up.

And I've been asked to recompile some of them to work on older handsets (non n-series) and when I do that, the text colors are revert to black - even though they are changed in the color palette in theme studio. :( Can't figure that out either.

I've got a few more I'll post in the next day or so..... PLEASE POST YOUR COMMENTS (good or bad) I look forward to reading them.

Clock Face problem... Not exactly sure if your bitmaps are masked correctly but I have noticed in TS3 there are many bugs. I gave up trying to do bitmap clocks as kept getting unexpected results. Vector graphic clocks work flawlessly in TS3 so I am assuming TS3 is better suited to vector graphics in some elements. Get your self Adobe Illustator if possible to assist with N series themes and some graphics as desired.

Another example of similar workings... If you want to change calculator frame/paper you can not use 'single graphic' once again previews fine but will never show on phone. You must use a 9 piece graphic.

Anyway keep up the effort.

Hmm.... ok. I'll install Illustrator tonight and see what happens... is that the same reason I'm unable to make the transparent grids, wipes or bars? IE: the selection grid in the menu... the default selection grid is a transparent fade, but I'm unable to make anything transparent--- always solid.

Sounds like I need to get more familiar with Illustrator :partyman:

i think these themes are only for N90. none of them working properly on my N70. bad colours in all icons. no digital clocks, wrong size of images..
I have installed a couple of these on my Wife's N70 and they look fine - Which ones specifically are you trying on your N70 and what looks bad?

AFAIK: The N70 should display any hi res themes the same way the N90 does.... :? But you are correct, I do have an N90 and thats the first phone in mind when creating the theme.

Thanks Mark_6600...... I can compile them in v2.6 compatibility, and you can then install them - but from what I've been reading, many aspects of the theme are lost, like text colors specifically - it reverts to BLACK. And some icons are lost.... but I'll upload a few with 2.6 compatibility and you can try them and see :axe:

Here is EXPERIMENT in Low Res compatibility mode... using theme studio 3.0, set compatibility for v2.6 before actually creating the .sis file.

Mark_6600 and others - please try them, and let me know the results... One thing I'm sure of, for whatever reason - when Theme Studio 3.0 compiles themes in this mode - text color information is lost. So I think the text will be black.

Cohiba Cigar Theme compiled in Theme Studio 3.0 with v2.6 compatibility for use on non n-series handsets. Should work on low res and older phones.
*NOTE: Text will be black - this is issue with Theme Studio dropping the text color information when using this mode*

Katie Price theme.. Compiled for LOW RES using Theme Studio 3.0 set to v2.6 compatibility mode. This is for older low res handsets (NOT N90's)
The only known issue I've seen reported is, all text will be black. Theme Studio drops the text color information (for some reason) and the text reverts back to black.

Here are couple new themes... these are SPECIFICALLY for the N90. They will work on an N70, but they were designed and created in High Resolution with Theme Studio 2.0, and have specific outer display images for the Nokia N90 :supz:

I will be uploading 2 versions of this theme, a 24bit version and a 16bit version. I 'd like it if you guys would try both versions, and tell me if there is any significant or noticable quality difference between the two version. 16bit themes are MUCH smaller than 24bit themes.

plz read the thread's title mate. It says these themes belong to n90/n70. That's why it doesn't work on ur n91.
