Tested on my N70,it looks okay and heres my views.
Could do with the clock hands changed from black to white.
The square that goes round the icon in the menu could do with being white as well.
And the square where the date is in the clock could be moved to the right a little bit.Thats it for the minute....to be continued.

i have one sugestion, if you can, don't use one color icon for s60, i think this themes is very good, if you use cool icons( like n-series), but this is my think :)

As far as I know, this is impossible in Theme Studio 2.0. I would love to be proved wrong, but I DID try to chang them to white and it wouldn't work for me since I cannot set the transparency on any part of the clock at all. Without the option to set a transparency I have to leave it like default. Solution anyone? :(

Do you mean the square on screenshot 2? That one IS white (like on the screenshot)... It's just that the fill in the middle of the square is white transparent. Is that what you mean?

I'll look into that, but again, I think the transparency issue will be in my way... stupid Theme Studio bug :?

misi3q: Yes, That's what I'm gonna do. The version for older s60 phones will have the custom Nseries 3D icons to look like an Nseries device. I'm just not including them here since they are already in N70 and N90.

Good starting work... needs colourful icons I thinks and some items contrast a bit clearer as the others mentioned already.

Quozl: The icons SHOULD be the icons from the default Nseries theme, so they are a lot more colorful than the blue ones in the screenshots. I can't test if this is working myself. Could someone test it for me?

connecting people: unfortunately thats a restriction on 6600. Any icons that shows up as default are not supported by themes at all (you can try this by downloading another theme. It will have the same problem. They will ALWAYS be default). On 6630 and newer however, all icons will show correctly as the Nseries icons.

Thanks of your answer. But I must correct. The icons to which I report (selection and question mark) me and that they miss in your theme for serie60 they are not seen not for a limit of the Nokia 6600: in fact, really the other day the consumer Bandez (Italian as me) has made his/her themes compatible for serious N with the series 60: and you/he/she has done him/it always using theme Study 3.
This way, everything depends on to know how to use to duty it fears studio 3 and not from 6600 and other series 60. Don't leave doubts entrance I bring here you, for instance, the two themes that Bandez has realized with theme study 3 and which themes, loaded in the Nokia 6600 and in other S60s, exactly visualize the same animations (I report me to the icons in object) that you/they are seen in the series N. If you don't believe it, test you same to load one of these themes in a 6600 and make me know.
I repeat, the themes son is made with the series compatible 60 using theme studio 3.

You just see these themes I raise them from your thread.I leave them because you can try even them and to make I count you...:-)

I think that he is talking about the animated icons( installation complete, deleted, tc.), just like this theme, try it its much similar than your, but pearl have more contrast and looks more nice, so if you can make the animated icons could be so nice.

Ohhh I get it. So do I need theme studio 3 for this? I havn't really tryed it out that much yet, since I don't have a clue how to set transparency effects. How can I apply masks in theme studio 3?? The mask button is always grayed out so I can't click it.

We are not understanding very well perhaps there...:-) The icons that you make me see in the screenshots that you have attached it is normal that they are so in 6600:in fact these icons are not modifiable and they always stay such and what. But I didn't report me to those icons speaking of your tema:mi I exactly reported to the icons related to her "selection" and to the "question mark" that those stay of present default in 6600 and that instead, as you will have been able to see in the themes that I have attached, they are modifiable with it fears study 3.
Therefore, recapitulating: the problem that you signal in the screenshots is for a long time a known problem and towards which nothing can be done and therefore it is not a specific problem of the themes in object. While instead it is being possible to modify the icons of selection and the question marks using theme study 3.

If then a lot of familiarity is not had even still with theme study 3 this it is another thing.
Naturally my interventions don't have claimed anybody to be polemic with you. I appreciate a lot rather your job, and I wanted only to put in evidence the fact that if you want you can subsequently improve your works...:-)

Hey, looks good on my N70, I love dark themes and this is definately up there with the best that I have seen.

The only thing that bothers me is that the menu item highlight is too "dim". You can only really see the bright area of the highlight, but other than that its awesome. Thanks.

Hmm doesn anyone know how to make v2.1 (like Nokia 6600) compatible themes with Theme Studio 3? It only says 2.6, 2.8 and 3.0. When I try 2.6 I get LOTS of errors when I test it...

this really is an amazing theme alex! Perhaps the best 'all-black' one I've ever seen. Although i wish you'd remove the icon that appears on the top-left when one clicks the menu button.

Thanks for all the replies ^^ I have fixed the sertifacate problem, although not updated the download yet. The new version is heavily updated with lots of new stuff and many things are much imporved. It looks much much better now. I will post it here soon. Stay tuned :P

A version for s9.1, n70 and n90 will be released VERY SOON. I'm sorry for all the dalay, but I havn't been able to work on the theme as much as I should have. Then I encountered some problems and decided to make an improved version with new graphics.

The theme is COMPLETELY remade and now has about 70% vector graphics that looks much nicer. So yeah, expect a version that looks a lot better than from those screenshots. Again, sorry for the long wait. I will try to get it up in the next few days!!

On the 3rd Edition (if there is one) could you make it so that there isn't the blue bar on the top of the Menu and Tools etc. screens. This blue bar tends to ruin the overall effect when viewed on a 3rd Edition device. Below is an an example of what I mean:

A suggestion if I may:
I think that maybe a white font for the bottom of the screen would be better looking instead of the black one (as in the other Nseries version). Hope you don't mind me saying this, seeing as you've put such an obvious amount of hard work into it.

I will vectorize them later but for now I only fixed the background problem (or tried).

I reckon if you fade the background at the bottom to almost black and make the text white, it would be perfect. As it stands tho, this theme, as it is, will be a permanent fixture on my N80 from now on.

Also, would it be possible to make the clock date background black with white text (an example of what I mean is below). Hope you don't mind but these are just a couple of ideas that I would do if I had the patience or time to make my own personal themes.

Wow even the background is not visable except for in standby? Well that's unfixable in Theme Studio 3 as there is only one place to put it and it will show up everywhere. so this is all themestudio's fault :( Looks like the only way to fix it will be to make the theme completely in Theme studio 2.

well i donna about that. as a n70 user I used a lot of themes made in TS3 without any problem.

geojoking, but how can it be that N70 shows a white background when 3rd ED devices shows the correct one? In TS3 there is one spot for standby background and one spot for menu background. Both have the same background in them (otherwise it would'nt work on my N80), so I am clueless on how to fix the issue myself. Hope you got some information. Uncheck 24-bit maybe?

Ok, let's try one more time :D I have uploaded two files now. Someone with a N70 or N90 check it out for me please :D The first one is my last attempt at TS3. I changed some graphics and unchecked 24-bit colors. Fingers crossed! The second was compiled using TS2, so it SHOULD work fine this time, but please test the TS3 one first to see if theres any hope.

Thanks for checking it out. Hmm it must be the files I'm using then. The thing is the files are just completely normal vector graphics and as far as I know N70 and N90 supports vector themes no problem. Sorry, but I really don't know how to fix this I'm afraid :( Looks like the theme will be 3rd edition only unless someone can point me in the right direction.

this is so frustrating. there is no change in the TS3 version, actually it's worst, now it doesn't show the main wallpaper at all.

But I would like to add something: the Opening animations stop after 2 seconds. Also no animation at Done (the tick |/ ), or at keypad locked.

oh, almost forgot: no improvments with the TS2 version either.

i'm no specialist, but try doing this: change the actual black wallpaper with a different one, try changing the battery/signal indicators with other ones, so you can see what is the problem. :(

on my n70, ts2 don't work.. ts3 version work but the signal and battery bar don't work..

geojoking, the icons arn't animated actually, so that makes sense. I havn't bothered to animate them yet. As far as I know you have to animate them manually, correct? Default icons arn't animated, right? It's default at the moment and they arn't animated on my N80 either. I was plannin on updating this later.

And about the background, I already changed it in the version you just tried. I followed the advice of Agrippa and changed the white at the bottom with a slightly darker tone and changed the font to white. Apparently, all that happened was that the background wont show up at all now o_o

vs0587, you mean that the background and everything else works fine except for battery and singnal bars ONLY?? are you sure? because it didn't work for anyone else. Can you post a few screenshots?

Never mind matey, it's still a cracking theme! Have you tried just changing the text at the bottom to just white anyway? I think the background is still dark enough for the white text to show up better than the black text.

Yup I changed it. The background is slightly darker and the text is white. Looks good. I havn't updated the download yet though. There's a couple of other things I want to change to the theme first, like adding equalizer graphics for example.

Oh, and about the date on the clock. I agree with you that would look much better if it was white text on pure black, but I don't think it's possible. I couldn't find it in the "colors" section in TS, and black on black doesn't go too well together :P

The highlight bar seems invisible on some sections :???: (Highlight bar is same as with background) I have N71

Where would that be? So far I've seen it one place myself, which would be when entering info in the calendar. The highlight is visable, its just a little hard to see at first. However I cannot fix it because the graphics used as a background in that area must be white for the rest of the theme to work.

Very well done theme Alexx. Lovely I will say. Everythings cool but for the mp3 player in my opinion has too many designs going on making it look busy. Maybe remove those all white lines around the options/exit?

the version for n70 is not working....

The new version is much improved except for (dare I say it?) the white dotted line on most screens (an example is below). Your last version had a faint black dotted line. How about a version with no dotted line at all (Like the official nokia one). Other than that - fabulous job matey!

Do you really use the clock settings screen that much?

It appears on most screens, I just chose that screen cos it was more prominent. Just thought the theme would look even better without it (if it could look any better, that is).

Best theme yet for my black N80! :)

A few minor things (of which You are probably already aware):

- In Profiles when choosing ringtone, the icon specifying that the tone is located on a memory card is black which is hard to see.

Everythings cool but for the mp3 player in my opinion has too many designs going on making it look busy. Maybe remove those all white lines around the options/exit?

The new version is much improved except for (dare I say it?) the white dotted line on most screens (an example is below). Your last version had a faint black dotted line. How about a version with no dotted line at all (Like the official nokia one).

Unfortunatley, that's unchangable. There's nothing I can do about it.

A quick solution is to press the left softkey, but its not convinient. I'll try to fix it but I have no idea what's causing it. I've seen it on other themes though... So it's not just my theme.

Yeah the digital clock is a little short so it fits in a little weird - one like this one would fit better I guess.

But other than that, GREAT theme just got even better! This is by far the best dark theme I've seen for my N80! Keep up the good work! :win:

Is there any way to change it so java apps don't have black text on black background or is that soley the app's decision on what text color it picks? It's hard to type in addresses with opera mini or gmaps since it's black text on black background :cry:

btw.. the charge indicator bar and the signal bar are boxed out in white...

It didn't show up in my App. Manager so I had to remove it directly from the card.

Hmm... I never realised that it's a problem with just my phone. BTW... I'm able to install v2.1 of the theme. This also doesn't show up in App. Manager.

I had the same problem. There was nothing I can do:
- I could not uninstall because the theme did not show on app manager
- I could not re-install theme
- Even when I delete the theme from memory card the installer still says: unable to install
Solution is to format your phone *#7370#. Maybe someone has better solution because I do not want to format my phone everytime I want to install new theme (Pearl Black).

akwman, I'm Sorry, but I'm not going to make special versions of the theme for single persons only. I've gotten requests like this in the past too, but I'm not going to do it. Also, I've stopped using bitmaps in my themes completly. They give you nothing but problems, and lanscape mode looks very blocky with them. You should use the picture as a background image as suggested.

wmi, The only way is to delete it through the app. manager. If it doesn't show up, it means you need to wait for it to update the list. Do this by opening app. manager. and then waiting for several minutes WITHOUT pressing ANY buttons. The list will refresh and the theme will be there. Had the same problem once on my N80 too. If it doesnt work, reboot, and repeat.

The N70 not work correctly. Have a problem with battery and call signal bar, and the date string. Please correct this bug because the theme is the my favourite also if i don't use it on N70 XD.

thixkull, I find it strange that this only happens on 3250. Not even N91 with the same resolution. Anyway, it's deffinitly the same bug that is occurring on N70 too, and I think I might have found the problem.

This is not an official release. I just want 3250 users and N70/N72/N90 users to test it and see if the bug is still there. Please download the attached file Pearl Black TEST.zip. It includes both files, the 3rd ED one and the 2nd ED one. Post your results here.

Next version of Pearl Black (2.7) will be released soon and it will probably be the last version I release, so make sure you report all bugs you see. Otherwise they wont be fixed :P

I test the N70 version. This version have fixed the bars and some title menu and writing sms, but the string of date is all white how in back version. The string is white also in the menu, how there's a multiple selection (es. received sms). That all, fix this bug and i love you XDDD.

Hi, I installed the 2.6 version on my e60. So far one of my favourite Themes.
But there is a small bug: The textfield where I enter an URL in the Internet browser has white fonts on white background (you can only see them, when you highlite them). Please consider this for future Versions.

I'm afraid the best solution for you is to format your phone: *#7370#
Backup your contacts and data before formatting.

Ok so I tried to fix the bugs. N70 version should be without the white line near the top and 3250 version should be without the white-on-white symbol selection.

Once I recieve feedback on both versions that the problems are fixed I will release it as 2.7.

Some background: I couldn't see v2.5 in app. manager and I physically removed the theme files from memory card. Since then I haven't been able to install any Pearl Black version since 2.5

Could you please see if you can change the UID of the app. or make it install in a different folder? I can install v2.1 and it installs in a different folder.

The problem are fixed but are a little other bug. In the main screen when i digit a number this are black, when i'm digit a letter for search a contact in rubrica, the letter are white. If you can change the tab's menu in black from this of the origal nokia theme, it' a complete theme! Release a defenitive version! XDD

When i try to enter the addres in opera 2.0 java vers i cant read text beacause is black to black and when i stay conected on the web with defaul web browser cant read go to menu. One little bug found in " Notes" in all versions v2.5, v2.6, 3250test2.

wmi, I told you how I managed to fix it on my phone. If it doesnt work for you then I don't know. It's a known issue though. Seems like the only fix is to format your phonememory.

The reason you can install 2.1 is because it's totally different. The theme projectfile was completely remade in 2.5.

Raziel7 is rite on the restart thing... i have that problem when i restart the phone, i.e. the white line will appear after restart...

The other problem is what Raziel7 describe on the contacts page... when typing in the letters to search for a particular contact, the letters appear as white which is similar to the background... can't see what letters we're typing...

alex this is GREAT. I LOVE IT. But the guys are right, there's a problem with the font color in the search contact tab. you can't see what you're typing. FIX THIS, and it'l be my new default theme.

also, how about making a repeating opening animation (that repeats itself until Opening dissapears). and how about animated keypad lock/unlock ?

The problem of telephon reboot it's true. I've have tried to reinstall the theme two times but the bug there's too.

Well to be honest I have NO idea whatsoever how to fix that. A theme just shouldn't change when you reboot your phone. And since this is a N70-only issue it makes testing difficult. It doesnt happen on any of the 3rd ed phones. I need you guys to post screenshots of every issue you see so I know exactly what to change.

And I find it really strange that search strings are white on white. The theme uses a BLACK box with a white outline for every search string. 3rd ed phones displays this correctly, like shown in the program. How come N70 ignores this graphic?

1. I don't quite understand. There is no flash file in the theme, no.
2. Pearl Pink and Pearl Green. I might make different PB editions (silver, ice etc.) in the future but right now I have no such plans.

- Call-bubbles (black text on black bg)
- Notepad (black text on black bg)
- Search string (white text on white bg?) <- Not sure how to fix this one.

Anything else? Please help me complete the list. Post screenshots of the bugs if you can.

Nice theme. I think this is the Best Black theme for N70. But I found some bug in PearlBlack N70 test 2 pls fix it.

I have a problem on an E61: when I try to write smth to a contact from yahoo, I use MIG33, i don't see what i write. With other themes I cand see that. Help pls

Pearl Black theme is marvellous alexx. I just wonder if it is possible for you to make a Pearl "White" one (i.e., invert the Pearl Black). This would seem cool and at the same time will solve the black font on black background issue in JAVA apps like Opera Mini. Thanks.

very beautiful themes! but it is running with more memory than any other themes preload in Nokia mobilephone, that's a pity.

I try it and it works excellent on my E50. only the gray color of font can be changed.
