any other has an opinion about this topic? thanks guyz...
maheryu 14th March 2006, 03:27 Ati 9500 is much better! It's DX9 card and it's a lot faster than gf4! GF4 is DX4 card and most of new games wont even start on gf4!
ashpreet_htbk 14th March 2006, 04:55 I have ATI 9000 IGP on my laptop .. which is kinda old... !
LayZ 14th March 2006, 09:37 Thats incomplete info man...if you had been more specific I could have helped you...GeForce 4 has lots of models like GeForce MX 440,MX 4000,Ti 4200,Ti 4400,Ti 4600,Ti 4800 and lots more...moreover they come from different manufacturers as well XFX,eVGA,Visiontek etc..so u have to let us know which model u wanna get...if its the Titanium series you are talking about it would be comparable to the 9500,but if its the MX series of cards you are talking about then those are the worst cards you could ever come across...they are based on the ancient nv17 core and are now extinct..in that case go for the 9500 which at least will sport a 128but memory bus width...

nevermind182004 15th March 2006, 07:27 sorry guyz for incomplete info, here it is
ATI RADEON 9500 128mb PRO 8x vs. Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti4200 128mb 8x
which is best?
nevermind182004 15th March 2006, 07:31 uhm.. sorry forgot to tell u my pc specs..
Pentium 4 2.0ghz
MSI motherboard 4x
80gig seagate hd
which is best for my pc?
LayZ 15th March 2006, 08:37 Go for the ATi Radeon 9500 Pro 128 MB..
Here's the card..

Check out this graph below...as you can see clearly, the Radeon 9500 outperforms the GeForce 4 Ti 4200 in every test..also as you can see its performance is almost as good as the GeForce Ti 4600...so I suggest you go opt for the ATi Radeon 9500 Pro..

nevermind182004 16th March 2006, 02:59 hmm that was also my perception Layz,.. but I've heard from other people that geforce 4 Ti4200 takes the lead on Radeon 9500 when your system specs are not that great, for example my board only supports 4x.. Is that true..?
LayZ 16th March 2006, 08:59 Mate trust me current generation cards never utilize the entire 8x bandwidth even if its available...if you use a 8x card in a 4x AGP slot, the difference is negligible...just make sure you have at least 512 MB of RAM installed and go for the ATi Radeon..
nevermind182004 16th March 2006, 09:38 alright mate you got me.. ;)
anymore suggestion please..?
onemore thing lays.. can i still overclock ATI Radeon 9500 pro? Or if not, how about tweaking..?
LayZ 16th March 2006, 09:54 I think this card will be clocked at 275 MHz (core),not sure about the memory though...and it'll be overclockable..get the card and I'll tell you about all the tweaks..happy gaming ;)
ashpreet_htbk 16th March 2006, 10:54 TOpic moved to our New section... Computer technical support!!
nevermind182004 16th March 2006, 19:41 oh dude, there's another card that bothers on my mind, b'cause the price doesn't go far that much.. How about ATI Radeon 9550 se 128mb 8x?? If you were I mate, which will u pick..? i'm buying a card tommorow.. thanks dude, ill be waiting for your reply..
LayZ 16th March 2006, 20:12 Don't go for the 9550SE mate..it's a 64 bit card..those are poor performers..besides its clocked at 2500/400 as compared to 275/540 for the 9500 Pro...
Take a look here..

If I were you I would go for the 9500 Pro..
RKOHHH 16th March 2006, 22:34 man i think i will with nvidia but u choose these two now i will make any suggestion for u ati 9500 0r nvidia 4 man its nvida titians or mx if its mx don't buy it mx is not a good card then buy ati 9500 bcz it has pixel shader 2.0 and mx has not and mx has 4x card and ati 9500 is 8x card and if u buy nvidia fx then i will go with this nvidia fx 5200 card it is not expensive its price just round about 69 $ as i know my first card is nvidia fx 5200 and now i have MSI nvidia 6800 ultra 256 mb.titians is good card but i only recommand geforce fx 5700 & ati radeon 9600 128mb is good and 256 mb outstanding if u play games.hope useful information i given to you:finga:last if u have low money then i will chosse as ur system specfication is ati 9500 128mb its better than nvidia 4 mx and titians.:weedman:
LayZ 17th March 2006, 09:19 GeForce FX 5200 is the worst card u can possibly buy..actually the entire FX Series were poor performers..the 6 series cards are way better...the card u use is not manufactured any more...besides its from a different price range altogether...we are basically looking at entry level cards here..
joshuab 17th March 2006, 12:46 i dunno bout the gforce but ati 9500 is one of the best cards to have
it beats a 9600 too when softmodded to 9700
but it is not produced by ati any more
so u will have to get a 2nd hand one if u want one
nevermind182004 17th March 2006, 19:05 finally... ATI Radeon 9500 is on my hand :prayer:
thanks everyone, now i've chose which best suits me hehe
@Layz
mate can u teach me now how to overclock this thing??
RKOHHH 17th March 2006, 19:41 which comapny card u purchase if it is msi they gave u safe and faster overclocking but check this site this site is for nvidia and ati drivers and overclocking and latest information on this site about computer check this or man i agree with u but fx is not a bad card its has quality but slower perfomance and geforce 6 series outstanding and 7 is for extreme gaming.

:finga: k br have fun
joshuab 18th March 2006, 07:11 download omega drivers for ati
softmod ur 9500 to 9700 while installing by chosing the option
and overclocking is very easy using ati tray tools
deathvirus_me 18th March 2006, 09:33 Well ..... 9500 and Geforce4 are almost dead .... i'd rather suggest a 6600 128 MB card ...... costs pretty low ... can tak all the current games at 1024*768 , high settings .....
And btw ..... the best software both for nvidia and ati cards for oc'ing or tweaking is Rivatuner .... get it h**p://downloads.guru3d.com/
LayZ 18th March 2006, 17:37 Deathvirus we are not allowed to post live links to official sites here..i think u should edit your post..
nevermind182004 18th March 2006, 19:26 question guyz.. i've recently made my TV as extended window desktop but the problem is, y is it black and white..? did i miss something..? The Cable that i use was S-Video wid RCA Connector in both ends.. the S-Vid was attached at the video card and the RCA at the TV..
oooooooooo 19th March 2006, 07:41 2 choose from these 2 models of graphic card, better take ATi radeon 9550 256 mb. Price is cheap + performance is good for price like this. U R using AGP rite??
illyaz 8th April 2006, 02:31 Choose ATI Radeon. It's better than Nvidia. If you'll buy Nvidia cards, make sure its Nvidia 6600gt or higher.
