For those of you who can't afford Genuine XP Software, and have to borrow instead:rolleyes:, here's a way that can make your copy of MS Windows accept updates! Follow this:

How to Disable Windows Genuine Advantage Tool

Disable the Windows Genuine Advantage Tool by going to:

>Internet Explorer
>Tools

Lolz it does sound kinda fishy is it a bug or wat coz how come Microsoft will allowed the genuine advantage to b manually disable by it user, unless its crack or what.

Anyway i wan 2 ask if this trick can b used with downloading programs from mircosoft website which require validation???

EDITED : Anyway mine doesn`t got the addon??? I am using Win XP MCE 2005

no, if you still want to download something from their website, it won't work, you have to use a legit key then :-)

hmm how do u exactly disable it then mine cannot . anyway the genuine advantage tool is use only for updating windows use windows update to bypass then.

u need WGA patch tool to complete disable

First Try to update your windows using Window Update
This will update Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) to latest version
Then replace "LegitCheckControl.dll" in Windows\System32 Directory
Now You can Update your windows using Windows Update or download any software from m*cro$oft that requires WGA

If you want updates then this works too...

Download Trixie..and install it of course..

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Now copy paste the following code in Notepad and save it with a .js extension...

// ==UserScript==
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
// ==/UserScript==

(function () {

document.write(
"<script type=\"text/javascript\"> \
document.cookie=\"WinGenCookie=validation=0\"; \
</script>"
);

})();

Then place the .js file in Trixie's scripts folder..in the installation folder..start IE,click on Tools>Trixie Options...select WGA workaround and deselect the rest..

Will work with IE only..Firefox users will have to use the Greasemonkey extension with the following script..

// ==UserScript==

// ==/UserScript==

(function () {

var fix = document.createElement("script");
fix.type = "text/javascript";
fix.innerHTML = 'document.cookie="WinGenCookie=validation=0";';
document.body.appendChild(fix);

})();

Don't forget you will probably need a new WGA patch every few months. They keep changing the workarounds and sneaking the updates in.

I dont think that those works right now . All u need is to replace the LegitCheckControl.dll from sys32 directory.

Latest WGA bypass after 26/4/2006

Well .. recent release require WGA checkings .. so its better to have those installed. .. instead u can look for the WGA workaround for the softare itself (like the one for WMP11) ..

Also to use the windows update feature ... do as guided by LayZ ,,,, thats works 100% , .....

To remove or delete permanently the the anoying wga messages"This Copy of windows is not geniune - You may be a victim of Software Counterfeiting". And also when you logon to the user you get delay time of 5 Sec. Just do a file search over drive C: and search for "wga" amd delete all files related to WGA until you are left with 2 files :wgalogon.dll and wgatray.exe. Download Gipo's delete on boot and install it.After installing it Do a wga search again and now just right click and chose delete on boot for the 2 files. Now you will never see the anoying messages again.

Are all of you guys talking about the prompting message on XP, requiring to activate..??

Please elaborate... these WGA stuff, you guys are talking are all about getting updates, as i read them... are these stuff also would eliminate the nagging Prompt to Activate.?

As everyone knows, if XP is not activated after 30 days it was installed, it is said to stop working. So, are these stuff a solution to this ACTIVATION NAG??

Please, enlighten me.... Thanx
