hi guys am not able to decide which lite on internal dvd writer should i buy..so many options..anybody with any info ll be highly appreciated..thanx a lot in advance.

Get Liteon 16X DVDRW, because it is not only cheap but also stable.

DVD Write DVD+R 16x
DVD Write DVD+R9 8x
DVD Write DVD-R 16x
DVD Write DVD-R9 4x

DVD ReWrite DVD+RW 8x
DVD ReWrite DVD-RW 6x

DVD Read 16x
DVD Access time 160 ms

CD Write CD-R 48x ( 7200 KB/sec )
CD ReWrite CD-RW 24x ( 3600 KB/sec )
CD Read 48x ( 7200 KB/sec )
CD Access time 160 ms

get the above specification will consider enough for your student's daily life usage. :rock:

remember to check system requirement from liteon site "Pentium 4 1.3 GHz or higher CPU and 128 MB or higher RAM are required"

Go for any Liteon one with 16x capabilities ....

thanx for tat info but a look for 16x shows many options like SHW 160p6s , SHW160h6s,SHW 165 etc etc...which one best within 3000INR ..lightscribe not important...

its all well and good buying a 16x dvd burner but 16x media can be upto 5 or 6 times the price of 4/8x media :cry:

in performance with reference to dvd writer. then i highly reccomend u to use asus or sony dvd writer...

I recommend u to use NEC ND3550A DVD-RW 16x
it's recommend from Tomshardware.com for the fastest drive...
I use one ND3540A n I use Liteon CDRW 32x

My Liteon is stable.... I used it almost 3 - 4 years and it still working.. althought I've already written for about 4000 cds
but it's a little slower than ASUS or other writer for almost 1 minute slower

In Indonesia Liteon also make sony CD-R in the same factory.. so it's the same here
