• POSTING HELP : If you want to ask why a word cannot be typed, your signature was removed/changed, your posts have been edited or a post has been deleted; see the FORUM RULES... if you do not find the answer you can ask the Admin Team, though due to volumes we cannot guarantee replies.

Forum Basic Information....

We hope this forum is a great community for people to chat and discuss issues, free from nasty comments and people trying to upset you.
Yet with thousands reading and posting the equivalent of several books every day on here, we of course need rules to help the place running smoothly and protect our broad church of users. So here are a few key pointers....

• All info is the opinion of posters - it's not necessarily our view. We have an amazing forum with a huge wealth of helpful info and downloadable content. Yet remember it's open to all, and sometimes messages are posted that are misleading or downright wrong, most users are helpful but there are always a few bad apples. Don't rely on information being accurate or complete. If you do, it's at your own risk. Please do your own research before acting.

• We can be liable for what you post. This isn't a 'freedom of speech site' as when you post something not only are you liable, but we can be liable too as the publisher once we have notice of it. So it's not a case of posting what you like - we can delete posts if needed - though of course our aim is to ensure legit info about saving money or fighting for consumer rights stays.

• Posting is a privilege not a right. This is a privately owned site. Posting is a privilege, not a right. Any inappropriate posts or any issues that take up a disproportionate amount of site resources or make it a worse place to be will be stopped at our discretion - with or without explanation. No one pays to use this site; when there are issues we pay to resolve them. And sometimes we need to prioritise spending money on the site, other issues or better resources.

• Please be nice to ALL iPmartians. That's our motto. Remember the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don't like someone, their situation, their question or feel they're intruding on 'your board' then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue... & remember it is our job is to help keep it that way.

The rules may be changed or amended at any time to reflect current trends.
Our guidelines are here to give you a legitimate expectation of how the forum runs, but don't restrict us to any single course of action.

Forum Netiquette....

The forum is a place to share info and tips with others, discuss and pick up ways to get the most from your gadgets & generally have a good time. We hope you'll enjoy it, but ask you to remember it's a broad church with many different types of people. Follow these basic rules to make it a good place to be.

• Please be nice to all members : There's no such thing as a stupid question and, even if you disagree, courtesy helps.

• Follow the Forum Rules : To ensure our members have the best possible experience, we will penalise rule breakers.
  Spamming will not be tolerated; Thanks/Rep requesting is forbidden - it encourages Spam; other nonsense & disruptive behavior is equally discouraged.

• Please be sensitive : This may be a web forum, but you're still talking to other human beings. Repeatedly or harshly saying someone's wrong can lead to upset. We're proud that many people seek help in the forum, but this means you may be berating someone who's struggled for hours without success, reached the end of their tether & in exceptional circumstances, may have personal issues that present out of character. Please think twice before posting judgmental comments.

• Don't feed the trolls : Sadly the web has a habit of throwing up a very small but vocal number of trolls, people who are nasty or contrary just to get a rise out of you. If someone's doing this, simply don't reply, just REPORT it to the Admin Team. If you get involved and fling mud back, you risk being barred from using the forum too.

• Take care over copyright : Use excerpts and links rather than copying long text. This site asserts copyright on all comments posted on the board.

Who's responsible for keeping order and the day to day business of running the Forum.
Who keeps things ticking over & tidied away..? What can they do & what are they there for..?

Once you have registered with iPmart® forum ,you must first activate your account before you can begin posting...
When you register, ensure that your Spam folder does not automatically delete emails as unfortunately, most Forum activation emails are often sent to your Spam folder & not your inbox as they should be...

In brief the reputation system is used so members can rate each and every post made on the forum .
You can give + , - or not give reputation at all .

BitTorrent is a protocol designed for transferring files.

It is peer-to-peer (p2p) in nature, as users connect to each other directly to send and receive portions of the file.
However, there is a central server (called a tracker) which coordinates the action of all such peers.
The tracker only manages connections, it does not have any knowledge of the contents of the files being distributed, and therefore a large number of users can be supported with relatively limited tracker bandwidth.

The key philosophy of BitTorrent is that users should upload (transmit outbound, also called seeding) at the same time they are downloading (receiving inbound, also called leeching).
In this manner, network bandwidth is utilized as efficiently as possible.
BitTorrent is designed to work better as the number of people interested in a certain file increases, in contrast to other file transfer protocols.

Phone firmware is the specific version of the operating system a phone runs on .
For example windows for pc is an operating system and 98 ,98se,2000,xp are the versions of it (and have improved with each new release) .
Another example is symbian os for phones and that uses v6 ,v7 ,v8 ,v8.1 and now v9.1. All versions are symbian but are better with each version.
Each individual phone uses its own version of firmware to run and new versions of that phones specific firmware are released over time to fix bugs and improve general areas of phone performance.
