Developer Reflections has revealed that Driver 3 is based on an enhanced version of the Stuntman engine. Aside from basic optimizations, the updated engine now allows for vehicle doors to be opened and features self-shadowing from the various vehicle parts. Moving on from the cars of Driver and Driver 2, Driver 3--like Vice City--allows you to get behind the wheel of any vehicle in the game, with larger trucks and boats added for good measure. Sadly, though, the game will not feature any licensed vehicles. Providing more than the single cities featured in other games, Driver 3 is set in Miami, Nice, and Istanbul, with huge areas of each carefully re-created. Each city will weigh in with around 30 square miles of roads, plus interiors to explore, so it's going to take you a long time to see everything the game has to offer.

Play as Tanner, the undercover cop from the first two hit Driver games. This time he's out to bust an immense car-theft ring -- but his secret is about to be uncovered. If Tanner doesn't work fast, the mission is over - and so is Tanner's life. Realistic driving physics and crash models - if you can think of a way to wreck the car, you can do it.
